China National Power Investment Group’s Qinghai branch has applied for a patent on a complete photovoltaic module recycling device and its associated recycling methods, effectively addressing environmental pollution issues. This development was reported on April 15, 2025, by Jinrongjie.
According to information from the National Intellectual Property Administration, the Qinghai Photovoltaic Industry Innovation Center Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the China National Power Investment Group, filed a patent application titled “Complete Photovoltaic Module Recycling Device and Its Recycling Method” (Publication Number: CN 119819684 A) on December 2024.
The patent abstract outlines a comprehensive recycling device that includes several critical components: pre-treatment equipment, back sheet removal equipment, visual sorting equipment, flipping devices, heating devices, complete glass separation equipment, glass unloading and stacking equipment, and cutting equipment. The pre-treatment equipment aligns the photovoltaic modules, performs edge scraping, and measures thickness. The back sheet removal equipment effectively strips the back sheet from the modules, while the visual sorting equipment assesses the back sheet removal rate.
The flipping devices rotate the photovoltaic modules, and the heating devices warm the modules until the adhesive film softens. The complete glass separation equipment then separates the glass from the solar cells, while the glass unloading and stacking devices categorize and stack the glass sheets. Lastly, the cutting equipment divides the solar cells into smaller sections.
This innovative approach not only prevents environmental pollution but also allows the recycled products to enter subsequent processes without further treatment. It enhances automation, boosts production efficiency, reduces manufacturing costs, and improves material recovery rates.
According to data from Tianyancha, the Qinghai Photovoltaic Industry Innovation Center Co., Ltd. was established in 2019 and is located in Xining. The company primarily engages in power and heat production and supply, with a registered capital of 700 million RMB. The center has invested in three companies and participated in 128 bidding projects, with 7 trademark registrations and 157 patents.
