Progress Update on Billion-Dollar Semi-Solid Battery Project for Industrial and Commercial Energy Storage

Progress

Industrial and Commercial Energy Storage / Network-Structured Energy Storage! The construction progress of the semi-solid battery project, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, has reached a new milestone.

On April 15, Zhejiang Guansheng Dongchi Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as Guansheng Dongchi) successfully completed the topping-out of its semi-solid lithium iron phosphate battery construction project, marking a significant milestone. This project spans 135.2 acres with a total building area of nearly 200,000 square meters and represents an investment exceeding 1 billion yuan. Groundbreaking for the project took place in May 2024, with an anticipated completion and acceptance by the end of 2025, and production expected to commence in mid-2026. Once operational, the facility is projected to produce 2.1 million battery cells annually.

The newly topped-out solid battery plant will focus on manufacturing next-generation solid-state battery products characterized by high safety, high discharge rates, ultra-low temperatures, and long cycle life. These batteries are expected to have wide applications in industrial and commercial energy storage, network-structured energy storage (enhancing grid stability), backup power for communication stations and data centers, electric vessels, and heavy-duty electric vehicles.
