Progress on the Key “Double Five” Infrastructure Project in China

Progress

The Fifteen Five key project construction is steadily advancing. As of October 13, 2025, significant progress has been made in the development of the project, which is crucial for promoting high-quality growth.

The Second Phase Project of the Yancheng Flood Control Line has recently commenced, with an expected completion date of October 10. This project aims to facilitate water supply to the city through the annual construction of the main water supply pipeline.

The Yancheng Flood Control Project is part of the national “Fifteen Five” major water resource initiatives, with an annual capacity of 15 billion cubic meters of water transferred from the Yangtze River. The second phase of this project, extending 190 kilometers, will provide water protection for areas including Xian, Yanzhou, and Yongcheng, supporting a population of over 1.4 million people.

Infrastructure construction is also being accelerated. A series of traffic projects, including roads and waterway transport, is set to start on October 10, aiming to enhance transportation efficiency in the region. These projects will connect key areas in Guangxi and improve the overall traffic network.

On the morning of the 10th, a significant bridge over the Yangtze River was successfully completed, marking a crucial development in the transportation network. This bridge will facilitate the connection between various regions and improve traffic flow.

In addition, the construction of new airports is underway, with the aim of maximizing capacity for air traffic. The newly constructed airport is expected to handle up to 1.3 million flights annually, significantly contributing to reducing carbon emissions by over 1 million tons per year.

Efforts are also focused on enhancing the regional airport network, which is projected to accommodate 4.5 million passengers and meet the increasing demand for air travel.

Overall, the steady progress of the “Fifteen Five” key project construction signifies a commitment to sustainable development and improved infrastructure in the region.
