Price of Polysilicon Drops Again, Declining by 2.7% (May 28, 2025)

On May 29, 2025, InfoLink Consulting released the latest prices in the photovoltaic supply chain. Starting from June, there will be an increase in the announced prices for BC components in the Chinese market.

Weekly Price Summary: The mainstream transaction price for N-type re-investment materials has reached 37.0 CNY/KG, while the mainstream transaction price for N-type dense materials is 34.5 CNY/KG. The main transaction price for N-type granular silicon is 33.5 CNY/KG.

Transaction Status: Orders for June began to be signed this week, with transaction prices showing a downward trend. Crystal pulling factories are exercising caution in their purchases, leading to insufficient transaction volumes, with actual transaction prices around 35 CNY per ton.

Inventory Dynamics: As of this week, the total inventory of polysilicon exceeds 370,000 tons.

Market Analysis: With weak demand anticipated in June, the market trend remains uncertain. The polysilicon market continues to experience low transaction activity despite the signing of orders. The overall pace of procurement is slow, with most transactions coming from small to medium-sized manufacturers, while first-tier manufacturers are holding prices steady.

Recent price changes indicate a slight decrease, with the N-type re-investment material price range between 3.60 and 3.80 CNY per KG, averaging 3.75 CNY/KG, down 2.85% from the previous period. The N-type granular silicon price range is between 3.40 and 3.50 CNY/KG, averaging 3.45 CNY/KG, a decrease of 4.17%. The P-type polysilicon price remains stable between 3.00 and 3.30 CNY/KG, averaging 3.13 CNY/KG.

Latest Polysilicon Supply Chain Prices: According to TrendForce’s latest report on May 28, the price for N-type re-investment materials has dropped to 37 CNY/KG, while N-type dense materials are at 34.5 CNY/KG, marking a decline of 1.43%. The price for N-type granular silicon has fallen from 34 CNY/KG to 33.5 CNY/KG, a decrease of 1.47%.

Upcoming Project Announcements: Recently, the Investment Promotion Bureau of Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province, announced a project to set up a 2 GW solar module manufacturing production line, aiming to attract an investment of 400 million CNY.

Carbon Footprint Management in Gansu Province: The Gansu Ecological Environment Department has released a work plan for establishing a carbon footprint management system. By 2027, the province aims to develop carbon footprint accounting rules for 3-5 key products and establish a preliminary carbon footprint database.
