The India AI Impact Summit is set to take place next week, but Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, will not be attending due to “unforeseen circumstances.” According to a report by Reuters, the summit is scheduled from February 16 to 20 in New Delhi, and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Global tech leaders and various political figures are expected to participate in this significant event.

Huang was anticipated to be one of the focal points of the summit, with plans for a media interview on February 18 in New Delhi. However, NVIDIA’s media agency in India, MSL, indicated via email that Huang would not be able to make it to India due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Last September, India established the Indian Deep Tech Alliance, initially committing $1 billion to support businesses in industries such as space, semiconductors, AI, and robotics. NVIDIA joined this alliance in November, collaborating with Indian and American investors to support local deep tech startups. The alliance has since welcomed several new members and secured over $850 million in funding commitments.

The AI Impact Summit is an annual event dedicated to the AI industry in India. Local media have reported that the summit will focus on the long-term governance of global AI and will offer actionable recommendations to replace the development of binding short-term regulations.
