Ningde Times’ ME Team Visits Li Qun Automation to Forge New Paths in New Energy Manufacturing

Ningde

Breaking New Ground: The ME team from Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) visits Li Qun Automation to define new pathways for intelligent manufacturing in the new energy sector. From February 3, 2026, Li Qun Automation has established a deep collaboration with CATL, generating a new level of production capability.

On the expansive stage of new energy manufacturing, a story of trust and innovation is quietly unfolding. What began as a simple slogan—“If there’s a problem, turn to Li Qun”—has gradually transformed into a habit, building a deeper trust. When clients seek breakthroughs in innovation, we collaborate to achieve the unprecedented. This narrative is vividly illustrated on CATL’s core production lines: Li Qun’s robotics not only save 15 times the labor but also contribute to the development of adhesive robots, accelerating CE certification and enhancing overseas production lines to shine globally. This spirit of co-creation melts away technical barriers and ignites numerous sparks of innovation.

From January 26 to 29, CATL’s Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team visited Li Qun Automation for a four-day special capability exchange. As a leading company in the global power battery industry, CATL has consistently embraced smart manufacturing and new energy technologies with a forward-looking vision, continually exploring new paths for innovation, research, and digital upgrades.

In-depth Exchange: Collision of Technology and Experience

During the exchange, both parties focused on the cutting-edge trends in the new energy industry and high-end equipment manufacturing, combining their valuable experiences in production practices and technological accumulation. They engaged in deep discussions on dimensions such as robotic application capabilities, system collaboration abilities, and long-term operational reliability. Through systematic communication and interaction, they further deepened their consensus on industry dynamics, application value, and collaborative models. Li Qun Automation showcased its fully self-developed robotic operating system and the performance highlights of its core controllers, leading to in-depth discussions on critical technical details, including enhancing equipment rigidity at extreme positions, optimizing PID trajectory control, and hardware optimization for spring and ball hinge mechanisms, resulting in many fruitful ideas.

Collaborative Definition: Opening a New Chapter in Product R&D

In the future collaboration blueprint, both parties have agreed to guide product development through actual process scenarios. Li Qun Automation will leverage its entirely self-developed controllers to collaboratively define and develop a new series of adhesive robots with CATL. This series will focus on three core indicators: lightweight, compact, and high-speed, aiming to further enhance the production efficiency of battery assembly lines. Furthermore, both parties will accelerate the large-scale implementation of high-performance parallel robots, such as the AP15X-1400, in more adhesive application projects. To improve on-site deployment efficiency and reduce subsequent maintenance costs, Li Qun Automation will introduce standardized “process packages” for core scenarios like adhesive application and stacking. Through the encapsulation of software algorithms and process experience, rapid optimization and alternatives for robotic applications will be achieved. Additionally, a comprehensive version control system for robot hardware, firmware, and programming will be established, along with customized grippers in collaboration with integrators, and supporting complete spare parts and after-sales guidance materials to form standardized operational solutions.

Global Perspective: Supporting Overseas Market Development

With the acceleration of CATL’s global strategy, Li Qun Automation has also identified overseas markets as a strategic focus for its next phase of development. Both parties reached a consensus to align with CATL’s overseas expansion process and expedite the CE certification of parallel robots, filling the gap for domestic parallel robots in the 15-25 kg range that meet international safety standards. Currently, strategies for entering overseas bases in Hungary, Spain, Mexico, and Germany are in the planning stages, aiming to provide more robust and internationally compliant intelligent manufacturing support for the global new energy supply chain.

Working Together: Promoting High-Quality Development

As a company deeply entrenched in the industrial robotics field, Li Qun Automation consistently adheres to an industry demand-oriented approach, continuously strengthening its capabilities to collectively promote the overall enhancement of intelligent manufacturing standards. This special exchange with CATL marks a significant step in their collaborative development. In the future, Li Qun Automation will continue to work alongside its partners, deepening collaborations in broader intelligent manufacturing scenarios to jointly promote high-quality industry development with more advanced products and a comprehensive global service system.
