New Subsidy Policy for Electric Vehicle Charging in Self-Governing Areas by 2026

New

On January 14, the Autonomous Region announced a new subsidy policy for electric vehicles to replace the existing one, referred to as the “New Energy Vehicle Subsidy.” This policy aims to streamline the subsidy process for electric vehicles starting from January 15, 2026.

According to the regional authorities, the implementation of the new subsidy policy will adhere to a “monthly review and assessment” requirement. The subsidy standards for various types of vehicles have been determined and will be enforced through a transparent allocation process.

Individuals interested in applying for the new subsidies must use the designated app, “New Energy Vehicle Subsidy,” to access the subsidy standards, which will be effective starting from 10:00 AM on January 15 and continue to be released on the 1st and 15th of each month thereafter.

In this policy, the subsidy for household electric vehicles will be available until the end of 2026 and will include parameters such as the vehicle’s type and intelligent features. The effective period for the subsidy application will be set for 60 days following the necessary adjustments.

The new subsidy standards for electric vehicles are as follows: For individuals who registered their electric vehicles before June 30, 2013, or had fuel vehicles registered before June 30, 2015, or registered new energy vehicles before December 31, 2019, they will receive a one-time subsidy. The subsidy amount will be based on the new vehicle pricing structure, with a maximum cap of 20,000 yuan.

For updated vehicle subsidies, individuals must adhere to the following six points:
1. Subsidy registration must be completed by January 1, 2026.
2. Participants applying for subsidies must ensure their electric vehicles qualify under the same subsidy criteria.
3. Newly purchased vehicles must comply with the specified standards and be registered in the Autonomous Region.
4. Any vehicle that meets the subsidy criteria must have been registered before January 8, 2025, and must provide documentation of prior registrations.
5. New vehicle applications must be registered under the same applicant’s name.
6. When submitting a vehicle update application, the system will verify the eligibility based on the established criteria.

For household appliances, the new subsidy standards will allow for a maximum subsidy of 1,500 yuan for each applicable item, and for smart appliances, the cap will be set at 500 yuan. The total subsidy for each household cannot exceed 6,000 yuan.

Individuals interested in the subsidy policy can refer to the designated app, “New Energy Vehicle Subsidy,” for more information regarding the application process and eligibility criteria.

For any inquiries related to the policy implementation or clarification, individuals can contact the local authorities.
