On May 5th, 2025, the “Five One” high-speed route service zone for new energy vehicles experienced an increase in operational capacity. The latest data from the National Electric Vehicle Collaboration Platform indicates that, as of the same date, the electric vehicle output in this service zone reached 3.068 million units, marking a 28% increase compared to the same period last year.
This surge is a result of various measures taken to ensure the regular operation of new energy vehicles, as local authorities actively implement multiple supportive strategies.
Located in the Yangtze River Delta region, this service zone is renowned for its high-speed transport capabilities. During the “Five One” period, new energy vehicles were introduced in substantial numbers, expanding the electric charging infrastructure. This initiative has provided a 30% boost in charging service capacity, encouraging users to “charge quickly” and avoid long wait times for electric charging.
In tandem with these developments, several regions have also been enhancing their electric charging stations and adopting new technologies to improve efficiency. In order to alleviate concerns regarding charging availability, local authorities are actively deploying 4,000 charging piles across various locations, which include two rapid charging stations with a capacity of 160 kW that can significantly reduce waiting times.
Since the beginning of this year, there has been a considerable increase in the construction of electric charging infrastructure. As of the end of March, the “Five One” high-speed route service zone has reported the establishment of 3.8 million charging points, covering 98% of the service area. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for new energy vehicles.
