This year, sales have already reached 1.76 million units! Compared to last May, there has been an increase of 382,000 units. As of June 1, 2025, at 19:38, this data was reported by Fast Technology.
According to the latest figures for May, a total of 382,476 new vehicles were sold, with 376,930 of them being passenger vehicles. From January to May of this year, total sales have amounted to 1.76 million units. In terms of segment performance, pure electric vehicles accounted for 204,369 units sold, while plug-in hybrid electric vehicles saw sales of 172,561 units.
In the domestic automobile market, there is a continuous upward trend in the sales of new energy vehicles. Additionally, the sales volume for new energy passenger cars has surpassed that of traditional vehicles, including compact, medium, and luxury models. Notably, since May, the sales volume has been boosted by government subsidies that were implemented to stimulate demand.
For example, the new model Plus DM-i, priced at 79,800 yuan, has seen a subsidy reduction to 63,800 yuan. If the subsidy is further increased to over 20,000 yuan, the final price could drop to an uncompetitive level at about 43,800 yuan.
In contrast, the L DM-i model provides a similar subsidy path, with the starting price set at 79,800 yuan and the DM-i model’s subsidy reaching as high as 143,800 yuan. Class A vehicles start at the A0 price level, while Class C vehicles begin at the B class price level. It is anticipated that with the ongoing subsidy policies, sales in June will reach new heights.
In summary, the current trend shows that the new energy vehicle market is expanding rapidly, with significant sales increases expected as government support continues to play a crucial role in boosting consumer interest.
