New Breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence Research Presented at the ACM Web Conference 2026

New

The Artificial Intelligence Institute at Shandong University has recently announced significant achievements that will be showcased at the upcoming ACM Web Conference (WWW 2026). The General Artificial Intelligence Lab (GAI Lab) will present two long papers during this prestigious international event.

Date of Announcement: April 4, 2026

Recently, the Artificial Intelligence Institute at Shandong University has been actively engaged in the preparation for the ACM Web Conference (WWW 2026), where they will present two long papers:

  1. MCoT-MVS: Multi-level Vision Selection by Multi-modal Chain-of-Thought Reasoning for Composed Image Retrieval. This paper introduces a novel approach for composed image retrieval, focusing on improving the relevance of search results through advanced reasoning techniques.
  2. R2NS: Recall and Re-ranking of Negative Samples for Sequential Recommendation. This research addresses challenges in sequential recommendation systems by enhancing the accuracy of negative sample handling.

The MCoT-MVS paper proposes a method that utilizes multi-modal reasoning to improve image retrieval results. By comparing it with conventional composite image retrieval methods, this approach shows significant advancements in application scenarios.

The R2NS study focuses on optimizing recommendation systems by leveraging negative samples more effectively. The method highlights the importance of accurate ranking and retrieval processes in enhancing user experience.

These papers were selected from a competitive pool of 3,370 submissions, with only 676 (20.1%) accepted for presentation at the conference, underscoring the quality of research being conducted at the Artificial Intelligence Institute.

The ACM Web Conference, also known as WWW, is a leading international conference in the field of web science, having been established in 1994. It continues to be a platform for groundbreaking research and discussions on web technologies.
