Energy Storage

On March 1, 2025, plans were announced for a new battery energy storage system to be constructed on the site of the former Kincardine Power Station. Fife Council has expressed its support for this initiative; however, the final decision will rest with the Scottish Government.

Gresham House Devco Pipeline Ltd proposes to install a battery energy storage facility with a capacity of up to 342 megawatts. The facility will be located on a nearly 10-hectare site situated between the Kincardine and Clackmannanshire bridges. This innovative technology will allow energy generated from renewable sources, such as solar and wind, to be stored and released when demand arises.
