MWC 2026 Kicks Off with Groundbreaking Debuts of Chinese Embodied Intelligence Devices

On March 2, 2026, the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2026) kicked off at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain. As the largest and most influential professional exhibition in the global communications and digital technology sector, MWC is viewed as the industry’s “annual barometer.”

This year, a new wave of embodied intelligence from China has captured significant attention. The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Beijing Humanoid”) made its overseas debut with its latest product, the Embodied Tiangong 3.0. This event not only symbolizes the acceleration of Chinese humanoid robots entering international markets but also reflects the new evolutionary direction of hardcore technology on the global stage. According to Wang Lei, a director at the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Society, the collective appearance of Chinese enterprises at MWC 2026 signifies a shift in the embodied intelligence industry from mere technological demonstrations to a new stage of global ecological construction. The collaboration between embodied intelligence and telecommunications companies reveals an industry trend toward the deep integration of communication and robotics technologies, laying the technical foundation for future integrated operations across air, land, and space. Chinese companies are reshaping the global humanoid robot industry landscape with a more pragmatic and open approach.

Embodied Tiangong Goes Global

As a “new face” at MWC, Beijing Humanoid attracted considerable attention. In February, the company unveiled the next-generation Embodied Tiangong 3.0, recognized as the industry’s first full-size humanoid robot capable of interactive object manipulation and high-dynamic motion control.

At the exhibition, the Embodied Tiangong 3.0 demonstrated its impressive capabilities powered by its self-developed Wisdom Open Object universal embodied intelligence platform. It surpassed previous models in terms of motion control, autonomous operation, and intelligent collaboration. Importantly, to address long-standing issues in the embodied intelligence sector, such as poor compatibility and adaptation challenges, the Embodied Tiangong 3.0 offers more open software and hardware interfaces.

Wei Guohong, a member of the CR Education and Training Standards Committee for Robotics, noted in an interview that the overseas debut of the Embodied Tiangong 3.0 is significant not only for showcasing technical breakthroughs but also for proposing a “platform-based” solution. By drastically lowering development costs and barriers across various industries, Beijing Humanoid is effectively building an ecosystem akin to the Android system for smartphones. This “more open and user-friendly” philosophy marks a crucial step for Chinese robotics companies as they transition from simply selling hardware to offering ecosystems and services, establishing a core competitive edge in the international market.

Wang Lei believes that the “platformization” mindset of the Embodied Tiangong 3.0 is key for Chinese robotics companies to create differentiated competitive barriers internationally.

Accelerating the Fusion of 6G and Embodied Intelligence

This year’s MWC focused on next-generation core technologies such as 5G-A, embodied intelligence, and 6G, providing a fertile ground for the global expansion of Chinese humanoid robots.

During the exhibition, Zhiyuan Technology and China Telecom previewed their joint innovation results regarding “6G+ quadrupedal robots,” revealing a future where communication technology and robotics converge. With transformative capabilities such as ultra-high speed, ultra-low latency, integrated sensing, AI-native technology, accurate positioning, and comprehensive coverage of air and ground domains, 6G technology’s synergy with embodied intelligence is bringing physical AI into a new dimension.

Yuan Bo, a special expert at Zhichan Think Tank, stated in an interview that one of the bottlenecks in humanoid robot development is the ability to complete real-time, autonomous data transmission and processing, along with perception in complex environments. The exploration of “embodied intelligence + communication” showcased by Chinese enterprises at MWC is effectively equipping robots with “super brains” and “far-sighted vision.” The accelerated development of integrated operations across air, land, and space will be a significant focal point for the next generation of the embodied intelligence industry.

From Showcasing Technology to Entering Various Industries

Technological breakthroughs ultimately need to serve industries. Beijing Humanoid’s participation in MWC represents not only an important showcase of its market and global strategies but also a key step toward practical industrial applications.
