Microvast Batteries “Extend the Range” for the Global Energy Transition

From February 19-21, 2025, the much-anticipated World Smart Energy Week took place at the Tokyo Big Sight International Exhibition Center in Tokyo, Japan. This event showcased cutting-edge technologies and leading equipment from various sectors, including hydrogen fuel cells, photovoltaic components and systems, energy storage, batteries, smart grids, and wind energy, highlighting the latest advancements in green energy development.

In line with the evolving demands of the industry, Microvast is leveraging its advanced technological capabilities, product quality, and strong brand image to expand globally and establish a significant presence in the international market value chain. The company has made remarkable strides in overseas markets, attributed to its high-tech and cost-effective products. Under standard power configurations, Microvast batteries can be charged to 80% capacity in just 15 minutes, significantly reducing user charging time. Moreover, these batteries are designed to function efficiently over a broad temperature range, ensuring reliable performance even in extreme conditions.

Microvast batteries demonstrate impressive temperature resistance and adaptability to harsh environments. Thanks to cutting-edge technology, they offer a complete charge-discharge cycle life of up to 8,000 cycles under full charge and discharge conditions. The lifespan of the battery pack is aligned with the vehicle’s entire operational life cycle, supporting over 1 million kilometers of driving range, making them ideal for heavy-duty and high-performance applications.

Energy serves as a cornerstone of modern industrial civilization. Amid the global energy transition, Microvast is committed to continuous innovation, actively pursuing progress, and engaging in advanced technological research and development to provide a wider array of product solutions for users worldwide. With their notable high performance and stability, Microvast has firmly established itself in the domestic market and emerged as a preferred brand in key international commercial vehicle markets, including Europe, South Korea, and the United States.

Prioritizing a multi-layered safety protection approach, Microvast products maintain high energy density while ensuring exceptional safety performance through ongoing innovations in separator materials, anode materials, and electrolyte technologies. This proactive approach effectively addresses safety challenges in battery applications, earning multiple international certifications, including the UN Economic Commission for Europe Regulation R100.3, the Chinese National Standard GB 38031, UL 2580 from Underwriters Laboratories in the United States, and AIS 038 from the Indian Automotive Industry Standard.

Tailored to meet the specific technical requirements of commercial and specialized vehicles, Microvast batteries also feature customization capabilities. Their compact design fits seamlessly into fourth-generation MV-B and MV-C battery boxes, accommodating the unique operating conditions of off-road vehicles, with a system energy density of up to 180 WH/kg.

At the exhibition, Microvast introduced its ME6 Energy Storage System (ESS), marking its entry into the global energy storage market. The ME6 ESS, centered around high-performance 565Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, is a pioneering solution in the industry. This system emphasizes unique maintainability, catering to the rigorous demands of battery energy storage system customers.

Microvast’s Vice President of Marketing, Lei Bingnan, remarked, “In recent years, Microvast has accelerated its international expansion, achieving diverse development in international markets and steadily increasing its global influence. In 2025, we plan to enhance our marketing and promotional efforts, expand overseas channels, and bolster our brand presence to cultivate a high-end brand image.”

In markets like Japan, Microvast is currently concentrating on commercial vehicles and actively engaging with local commercial and specialized vehicle companies to foster mutual benefits. Additionally, the ME6 energy storage product, launched by Microvast last year, has proven to be mature and highly competitive. Through this exhibition, Microvast aims to further showcase its strengths and explore future collaboration opportunities with more partners.
