
Over 430MWh! Significant Progress in 10 Major Commercial and Industrial Energy Storage Projects
Recently, the commercial and industrial energy storage market has seen a surge of positive developments. Various companies, including CATL, Huawei Digital Energy, Far East Battery, Hongzheng Energy Storage, ZhiGuang Energy Storage, and Cloud Storage Cycle, have reported the latest advancements in 10 energy storage projects.
Project Summaries:
- CATL: A 30MW/60MWh commercial energy storage project has recently been established in Jining, Shandong, in collaboration with Huajin Rubber Industrial Group. CATL is supplying the core energy storage battery system. Upon completion, this project will enhance the photovoltaic power consumption capacity of Huajin Group and improve grid demand response capabilities.
- Huawei Digital Energy: In partnership with Defu Technology, a 10.105MWh energy storage project has been initiated. This project utilizes 47 units of Huawei’s integrated energy storage systems and is expected to save approximately 2 million RMB per year in electricity costs through its daily charging and discharging cycles.
- Far East Battery: A user-side energy storage station with a capacity of 5MW/10MWh has been launched in Hengshui, Hebei. The station features 40 outdoor liquid-cooled energy storage cabinets and a smart energy management system, optimizing energy efficiency and ensuring safety through several protective mechanisms.
- ZhiGuang Energy Storage: The Yangjiang Special Steel Company has successfully connected a 120MW/240MWh high-voltage direct-access energy storage system to the grid. This project is one of the largest user-side energy storage projects in the steel industry, expected to enhance green energy consumption by 168 million kWh annually.
- Hongzheng Energy Storage: Two commercial energy storage projects in Shangqiu, Henan, have been commissioned. These projects utilize Hongzheng’s proprietary energy management systems for real-time data collection and optimization strategies.
- Cloud Storage Cycle: The Guizhou Jinrui 3.72MW/7.44MWh energy storage project has been completed and is the first of its kind in Guizhou Province to connect with a 10kV grid. It is expected to save approximately 1.8 million RMB annually while reducing carbon emissions by around 4,300 tons.
- Zhengtai New Energy: The Fengyang Zhengtai 100MWh user-side energy storage project has successfully connected to the grid. This project employs an intelligent operation model and is expected to provide significant cost savings and support for regional grid stability.
- Runxin Energy: A 3MWh commercial energy storage project for Jingyang Welding Materials has been commissioned. This project integrates a modular energy storage system that adapts to the production load characteristics.
- GCL-Poly Energy: The first user-side energy storage project in Guangyuan, Sichuan, has been connected to the grid. This project is designed to optimize electricity load and alleviate power pressure, resulting in significant cost reductions for the company.
