LONGi Announces Two New Global Solar Cell Efficiency Records

LONGi has made a significant announcement regarding two groundbreaking efficiency records in solar technology at the Technology Innovation Session during the 2025 SNEC event in Shanghai.
The company revealed that its self-developed large-area (260.9 cm²) crystalline silicon-perovskite two-terminal tandem solar cell has achieved a remarkable conversion efficiency of 33%. This achievement sets a new global efficiency record for large-area tandem cells and has been certified by the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Additionally, LONGi’s back-contact (BC) module has surpassed an efficiency of 26%, further elevating the efficiency standards for crystalline silicon modules.
Li Zhenguo, the Founder and newly appointed CTO of LONGi, commented, “LONGi’s innovation genes stem from a reverence for technological fundamentals.
