Longi Green Energy Files Patent for Solar Cell and Photovoltaic Module to Enhance Light Absorption Efficiency

Longi

LONGi Green Energy has applied for a patent for a new type of solar cell and photovoltaic module, aimed at enhancing the light absorption efficiency of solar cells. According to information from the National Intellectual Property Administration, the patent, titled “A Solar Cell and Photovoltaic Module“, has the publication number CN120076487A and was filed on January 2025.

The patent summary reveals that this application discloses a solar cell and photovoltaic module comprising a semiconductor substrate and a dielectric layer positioned on the semiconductor substrate. This dielectric layer is partially made of amorphous material and includes regions of crystalline structure. The formation of crystalline regions within the dielectric layer significantly enhances its structural stability, thereby improving the reliability of the solar cell and extending its lifespan.

Moreover, the presence of crystalline regions also enhances the anti-reflection properties of the dielectric layer, leading to better light absorption efficiency in the solar cells. Additionally, when the dielectric layer covering the first active region serves as a connection layer between the electrode and the doped semiconductor layer, its crystalline structure improves conductivity. This reduction in contact resistance between the dielectric layer surface and the electrode minimizes current losses.

Further updates and related news will continue to be reported as the developments unfold.
