Liquid Flow Battery Technology Selected for Shaanxi’s Second Batch of Industrial Carbon Peak Pilot Projects

Flow battery technology has been selected! The second batch of industrial carbon peak pilot projects in Shaanxi has been announced.

On May 13, the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology publicly announced the second batch of pilot projects for carbon peaking in the industrial sector. Among the selected projects in the energy storage field is the green lead-salt single-flow battery (membrane-free) energy storage technology from Xian Qinyuan Zhike Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. Additionally, the coordinated microgrid demonstration project from TBEA Xian Industrial Park, along with six “zero-carbon or near-zero-carbon” factories, and four major “zero-carbon or near-zero-carbon” industrial parks have also been included.

The original text states: The announcement of the second batch of industrial carbon peak pilot projects in Shaanxi aims to implement the “Carbon Peaking Implementation Plan for the Industrial Sector in Shaanxi Province.” This initiative seeks to break through key technologies, equipment, and solutions while establishing low-carbon innovation pilot demonstration models in important industries and fields. The goal is to explore and form a low-carbon transition and upgrade path unique to the industry.

Based on the experiences from the first batch of pilot projects, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology organized the collection of projects for the second batch of industrial carbon peak pilot projects. Following self-declaration by enterprises and recommendations from the industrial and information departments of various municipalities, the provincial department organized expert evaluations. The list of proposed projects has now been made public.

The public announcement period is from May 13 to May 20, 2025. During this time, any objections should be directed to the Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization Office of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, along with supporting materials.
