On April 12, the 2025 Energy and Materials Seminar was held at the Yimeng Lecture Hall on the third floor of Linyi University. The event was attended by Cui Xiaohong, the university’s Vice Secretary of the Party Committee, along with experts and scholars from over a dozen domestic and international institutions, including Adelaide University in Australia and Shandong Agricultural University.
In her opening remarks, Cui Xiaohong provided an overview of the university’s achievements. She emphasized that Linyi University has conducted extensive cutting-edge research in areas such as new energy materials, new energy vehicle technology, and smart grids. These efforts have yielded significant results and have been instrumental in supporting the development of the local new energy industry. She expressed hope that this seminar would serve as a platform for experts to exchange ideas, share achievements, and discuss academic topics. The goal is to provide new insights and methods for addressing key issues in the energy and materials fields, foster further collaboration, and collectively create high-level innovative outcomes that will promote innovation in energy and materials, contribute to achieving the “dual carbon” goals, and positively impact the development of the national and regional new energy industries.
During the seminar, presentations were made by Professor Dusan Losic from Adelaide University, Professor Hou Shifeng from Shandong Agricultural University, Miao Jing, Chief Engineer at Shandong Shibo New Materials Co., Ltd., and Li Mengjin, Chairman of Shandong Liuji New Materials Company. They discussed fundamental scientific issues, application technology challenges, and emerging trends in the energy and materials sectors, focusing on the application and development of materials such as graphene, nano-filtration membranes, and doped tungsten alloys.
Over three hundred participants attended the seminar, including university department heads, representatives from the College of Materials Science and Engineering, and faculty and student representatives.
