1. Nearly 800 Renewable Energy Projects Halted Due to Delays
Recently, several provinces, including Shanxi, Ningxia, Shaanxi, and Fujian, have conducted inspections on the construction of renewable energy projects, resulting in the cancellation of 789 projects, including photovoltaic projects with a combined capacity of approximately 32.7 GW and wind power projects totaling about 7.81 GW. The main reasons for the cancellations include delays in starting construction and inability to connect to the grid on time.

2. Guizhou Plans Off-Peak Electricity Pricing
On May 16, the Guizhou Development and Reform Commission announced a proposal to adjust peak and off-peak electricity pricing. The proposed off-peak period is set from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with rates reduced by 60% to encourage users to shift energy consumption.

3. Hitech New Energy to Invest in Indonesia
On May 19, Hitech New Energy announced a change in the use of part of its fundraising, redirecting a total of 147 million yuan originally intended for the expansion of its research and development center and a 10 GW TopCon high-efficiency photovoltaic battery project to invest in a 2 GW solar cell and 1 GW module project in Indonesia.

4. China’s Solar Battery Production Reaches 71.93 GW in April
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the production of solar batteries in April reached 71.93 GW, marking a year-on-year increase of 33.4%. From January to April, the cumulative production was 239.06 GW, reflecting an 18.8% increase compared to the same period last year.

5. SEG Solar Launches 2 GW Solar Cell Factory in Indonesia
SEG Solar has officially launched its first solar cell production plant in Indonesia with an initial capacity of 2 GW. This facility will produce highly efficient n-type solar cells with an average conversion efficiency of 26.4%.

Haining’s photovoltaic power output has exceeded 1 million kW for the first time, reaching a maximum output of 1.00833 million kW, which accounts for 51.3% of the local grid’s load during that period.
