In the rapidly evolving energy storage industry, grid-structured energy storage has emerged as a focal point due to its exceptional performance and vast application potential. As a global leader in energy storage system solutions, Kehua Data leverages its strong technical foundation and innovative spirit to pave new pathways for the development of the energy storage sector.

On April 11, during the 13th International Energy Storage Summit’s sub-forum, Kehua Data delivered an insightful presentation titled “Exploring Grid-Structured Technology for Large-Scale Energy Storage Stations.” The discussion included a deep analysis of the current state of the industry along with advancements in grid-structured energy storage technology and its mission. The company highlighted its advanced liquid-cooling cluster-level PCS (Power Conversion System) solutions and shared numerous successful project implementations, earning high recognition from experts and industry professionals present at the event.

Kehua Data emphasized that with the increasing integration of clean energy into the grid, system inertia decreases, posing challenges to grid stability. Grid-structured technology enables energy storage systems to mimic the functions of synchronous generators, actively responding to and supporting grid inertia, frequency, voltage, and short-circuit current while providing a degree of support to bolster the new power system.

Currently, grid-structured energy storage technology is becoming more mature, with an expanding range of applications and significant potential. In the field of microgrid support, it can adapt to various sizes of off-grid microgrids, meeting the power supply needs of special regions such as high altitudes and ensuring the usability of microgrids. For black start capabilities, it can serve as a regional black start power source, enhancing grid emergency response capabilities and facilitating rapid recovery of large grids. Additionally, it adeptly addresses local grid stability issues, enhancing the power delivery and reception capabilities of critical plants, thereby providing robust voltage support to ensure stable and reliable power supply.

In the realm of grid-structured energy storage, Kehua Data continuously pursues technological innovation and product upgrades. The latest liquid-cooling cluster-level PCS storage solution, unveiled during the summit, not only enhances the existing product lineup and broadens application scenarios but also elevates Kehua Data’s innovations in energy storage technology to new heights. The new generation of liquid-cooling cluster-level management PCS achieves ultra-high power density, reducing costs while laying the groundwork for efficient operation of energy storage devices.

In terms of grid-structured performance, the new product showcases exceptional capabilities, maintaining stable operation in complex grid environments and even achieving reliable operation under three times overload conditions. It boasts millisecond-level power response and microsecond-level voltage build capabilities, along with adaptive short-circuit ratios, multi-coordination black start functions, and domain-level black start capabilities.

For cooling, the new product employs a fully liquid-cooled heat dissipation system with a patented cold plate design, akin to installing a powerful “air conditioner” on the device. Even in high-temperature environments of up to 50°C, the PCS maintains stable operation without derating, significantly enhancing the stability and reliability of the equipment. This upgrade also results in a system lifespan increase of over 25%.

In terms of structural protection, the product features IP66+C5 anti-corrosion composite protection and has undergone rigorous environmental testing to ensure resilience against rain, snow, wind, sand, and high-corrosion environments.

Moreover, the product’s adaptability is highly flexible. It accommodates battery cells of varying capacities and can meet the demands for both 2-hour and 4-hour energy storage applications, thereby enhancing system usability.

This innovative achievement not only showcases Kehua Data’s profound capabilities in the energy storage technology domain but also injects new vitality into the development of grid-structured energy storage technology, setting a new direction for the industry.

With 37 years of robust expertise in power electronics and over 4,000 new energy project developments, Kehua Data holds a competitive advantage in large-scale, long-duration grid-structured energy storage applications. Since 2007, Kehua Data has shipped over 1GW of grid-structured storage solutions.

In its exploration of multi-regional grid projects, Kehua Data has continually expanded its application areas, leaving its mark from microgrid practices to strong overload black start applications, and from islands and remote areas to weak and strong grids in new energy regions.

By 2024, Kehua Data became the first company in China to pass comprehensive grid verification tests conducted by the China Electric Power Research Institute, signifying its leading position in grid-structured energy storage technology within the industry. In 2025, it delivered a 300MW/1200MWh grid-structured energy storage project in Xinjiang and a 60MW/300MWh standalone grid-structured energy storage project in the high-altitude region of Tibet, establishing benchmarks for GWh-scale grid-structured energy storage and ultra-high-altitude energy storage stations.

As a pioneering force in grid-structured energy storage, Kehua Data significantly contributes to the stable operation of power grids and the extensive application of clean energy through its exceptional technical capabilities and rich practical experience. Looking ahead, Kehua Data will continue its pursuit of exploration and innovation on the path of energy transition, striving to contribute more to the safe and sustainable development of the energy storage industry and leading the sector to new heights.
