JD Launches Smart Robotics Industry Acceleration 2.0 Plan at AWE 2026 with Leading Brands Discussing Industry Trends

During the 2026 China Household Electrical Appliances and Consumer Electronics Expo (AWE 2026), JD.com partnered with leading global robot brands such as Yushu Technology, Zhongsing, Yunshenchu, Yuandian Intelligence, and Jingshi Technology to create the Robot Mecha Alliance. They also officially launched the “Smart Robot Industry Acceleration 2.0 Plan”, aimed at helping brand partners achieve revenue scales in the billions.

During the expo, JD.com invited industry leaders including Jiang Zheyuan, founder and chairman of Songyan Power; Sun Rongyi, vice president of Qianxun Intelligent; Ding Yan, CTO of Luming Robotics; Su Yang, co-founder of Lingxin Qiaoshou; and He Jiabin, founder of Ropet, to share their insights into breaking through market challenges and to shed light on new trends in the deployment of smart robots.

One key insight shared was the reshaping of the cost-performance boundary for smart robots. Jiang Zheyuan stated that through extreme supply chain integration, he developed the world’s first consumer-grade humanoid robot, “Xiao Bumi”, priced at around 10,000 yuan, which boasts performance comparable to high-end products worth over 100,000 yuan. Since its debut on JD.com in 2025, Xiao Bumi has set a record by selling 500 units upon release. At the JD.com booth during AWE, the delivery ceremony for the first batch of Xiao Bumi robots successfully took place, confirming an unprecedented demand for cost-effective humanoid robots in the consumer market.

Additionally, the demands of home scenarios are becoming increasingly segmented, with emotional companionship emerging as a vital new application for robots. He Jiabin pointed out that modern young people seek low-energy, high-emotional-value companionship. To address this gap, Ropet is dedicated to developing AI companion robots that can understand human emotions. Recently, Ropet announced a collaboration with Universal Pictures to launch a co-branded project, with exclusive reservations starting on March 19 through JD.com.

The robot industry has transitioned from the early “full-chain self-development” model to a more efficient, specialized division of labor, focusing upstream on core technologies and downstream on scenario innovation. Su Yang, co-founder of Lingxin Qiaoshou, emphasized that relying on JD.com’s supply chain for delivery allows for a focus on technological research and development. Furthermore, the real B-end sorting test scenarios provided by JD.com have greatly accelerated product iteration and optimization.

Ding Yan from Luming Robotics discussed how JD.com has supported their business model innovation. In response to the challenge of data acquisition in the industry, Luming has established the world’s first “Embodied Intelligent Data Supermarket”. Through collaboration with JD.com, customers can now directly purchase data products as needed from JD.com, reducing delivery times from 1-3 months to as fast as 3 days, significantly lowering the development barriers for small to medium-sized developers.

As a “technology service enterprise based on supply chains”, JD.com continues to deepen its layout in the robot industry. During the 2025 World Robot Conference, JD.com, along with many top robot brand partners, launched the “Smart Robot Industry Acceleration 1.0 Plan”, laying a solid foundation for the development, integration, and upgrading of the robot industry chain. At this year’s AWE, JD.com announced the official launch of the “Smart Robot Industry Acceleration 2.0 Plan”, which aims to further deepen strategic collaboration with brand partners and help them achieve breakthrough revenue targets.

According to the plan, with an investment of billions into the smart robot sector, JD.com will accelerate the construction of a multi-faceted ecological collaboration. This includes tailored consumer-grade product customization, technological empowerment in research and development, supply chain financial services, domestic and international channel collaboration, joint marketing efforts, and the promotion of industry standards. Furthermore, JD.com will sign deep strategic cooperation agreements with multiple leading smart robot brands in 2026, assisting brand partners in achieving cumulative sales exceeding billions and facilitating rapid growth.

JD.com will also open various retail, logistics, technology, health, production development, industrial, takeaway, and lifestyle service scenarios to industry partners, while launching large-scale procurement orders worth hundreds of millions to collectively accelerate the deployment of smart robots in consumer applications.

On the technical cooperation front, JD.com is transforming its experience in supply chain and AI into open intelligent capabilities. JD.com will continue to provide various robot products with support from the JoyAI large model and the JoyInside intelligent voice module, enhancing product hardware understanding to complete complex tasks and improve human-machine interaction. During this AWE, JD.com and Yushu Technology jointly launched the exclusive custom humanoid robot R1 in blue and white, featuring multi-voice and dialogue capabilities. This product enables comprehensive interaction via language and vision, perfectly integrating smart interaction with superior mobility.

Moreover, to address issues such as short battery life and inadequate adaptability in robots, JD.com has introduced standardized battery solutions for robot products. This solution standardizes structures, interfaces, and communication protocols, leveraging supply chain advantages to significantly shorten product sample cycles and reduce brand procurement costs. This solution has already been validated for compatibility with multiple robotic companies, aiding brands in focusing on integrated development of smart machines and achieving cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
