JD.com has announced its “Smart Robot Industry Acceleration 2.0 Plan” during the 2026 China Household Appliances and Consumer Electronics Expo (AWE 2026), which officially opened in Shanghai on March 12, 2026. Ninebot made its debut at this expo, showcasing a variety of intelligent mobility products for the first time. The electric scooter section prominently featured the E3, F3, ZT3 Pro, and the much-anticipated MAX G3. In the balance bike category, they presented the Mini Ninebot balance bike along with the L6 and L8 series. Additionally, the Ninebot Go-Kart Pro2 and Ninebot children’s bicycle were also highlighted at their booth. Notably, all displayed electric scooters and balance bikes comply with the latest battery safety standards that have recently come into effect.

Commentary: Ninebot’s participation in AWE 2026 expands its intelligent mobility scenarios and reinforces its brand’s technological attributes. The entire product range adheres to the new battery safety standards, showcasing compliance capabilities and supply chain advantages. This diverse product lineup covers both home use and leisure travel, aligning with the trend of smart consumption and opening up growth opportunities targeted at consumers.

On the same day, JD.com officially launched its “Smart Robot Industry Acceleration 2.0 Plan” at AWE 2026, collaborating with various robot brands to present over 60 flagship robot products, forming a “Robot Mecha Alliance” matrix. The goal of this plan is to help brand partners achieve a cumulative revenue of 10 billion yuan by the end of 2026. To date, JD.com has successfully onboarded over 200 smart robot brands, including Yushu, Zhiyuan, Yundenshi, and Songyan Power, covering nearly all mainstream scenarios such as companionship and education.

Commentary: In 2026, the smart robot industry is at a pivotal stage of both technological implementation and market reshuffling. JD.com’s introduction of the Acceleration 2.0 Plan addresses critical industry challenges at an opportune moment. With over 200 brands onboard and coverage of all major scenarios, JD.com’s channel and traffic resources may help robot brands overcome commercialization hurdles.

Additionally, on March 12, Leap Stars launched its cloud AI assistant, StepClaw, based on the OpenClaw framework. This assistant can be deployed and accessed through the Leap AI App, available 24/7. Starting now, StepClaw is offering 50,000 one-click deployment and trial spots for free for one month.

Commentary: From an industry perspective, StepClaw represents an exploration into the commercialization of open-source AI frameworks, combining the execution capabilities of local AI assistants with the convenience of cloud services. This could align well with user demands for efficient smart assistants. However, given that there are many existing products derived from OpenClaw in the market, StepClaw will need to develop differentiated advantages in memory capacity, skill richness, and privacy protection moving forward.
