JA Solar, a leading provider in the photovoltaic solutions sector, participated in the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Summit, showcasing its sustainable development practices and efforts to combat climate change. Li Jing, the brand president and Chief Sustainability Officer of JA Solar, was invited to speak at several high-level UN meetings during the summit.

During the summit, JA Solar released its first Environmental Sustainability Report under the topic of “avoiding emissions.” This report introduced the company’s new 4F environmental climate strategy, which aims to be faster, stronger, fairer, and more long-term oriented. Utilizing this strategic model in line with the latest global disclosure requirements, the report systematically analyzes risks and opportunities associated with five core environmental issues. It outlines management practices and target indicators, providing a clear pathway for JA Solar’s green and low-carbon transition while serving as a reference for global photovoltaic companies to undertake sustainable practices.

In terms of corporate responsibility, JA Solar shared its efforts towards a just transition. The company has established a responsible supply chain system covering supplier admission policies and criteria, risk identification and monitoring, as well as corrective actions and remedial measures. By 2025, JA Solar had provided ESG training to over 400 suppliers. Additionally, the company has implemented a systematic human rights due diligence mechanism that regularly conducts human rights risk screening and assessment across its operations and supply chain. These initiatives aim to enhance the sustainability capabilities of suppliers, strengthen supply chain resilience, and reduce operational risks.

In furthering cooperation, JA Solar participated in the “Empowering the Future” conference at the UN headquarters, where it shared its collaboration with 28 photovoltaic supply chain companies to establish the Global Solar Industry Sustainability Alliance (GSSA). The GSSA will continue to strengthen engagement with global stakeholders to promote sustainability across all parts of the value chain.

The United Nations Climate Change Summit was convened by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, focusing on the updates and commitments of national leaders regarding their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Moving forward, JA Solar aims to support the development of renewable energy through technological innovation and ESG practices, providing a solid industrial foundation for global carbon neutrality.
