Solar energy HIBC cell conversion efficiency sets a new world record

According to a report from the Science and Technology Daily, on April 11, LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as LONGi Green) announced at the International Solar Energy Society (ISFH) certification that its self-developed HIBC (Heterojunction Integrated Back Contact) solar cell conversion efficiency has reached 27.81%, establishing a new world record for HIBC solar cell efficiency.

As a high-efficiency solar cell, the HIBC solar cell shows a conversion efficiency of 27.81%, which has surpassed the theoretical limit of 29.4% for BC (Back Contact) solar cells. This impressive efficiency advancement draws significant attention in the market.

Furthermore, technological advancements require the implementation of “theoretical breakthroughs – engineering realization – enterprise iteration” to drive progress in the field. By the first quarter of 2025, LONGi Green’s HPBC series products are expected to secure 30GW (gigawatts) of effective orders, with an additional 40GW in pending orders, targeting various countries and regions including Europe, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.

At the same time, LONGi Green has initiated the construction of hundreds of certified power stations. These developments demonstrate a commitment to expanding solar energy infrastructure, with the Hi-MO 9 series modules achieving a power output that is 3%-20% higher than comparable TOPCon products.

On the 11th, LONGi Green also kicked off the “most ambitious design project for BC solar stations.” The design phase aims to explore new energy solutions and encourage collaboration within the community.

In summary, the advancements in HIBC technology provide a solid foundation for the next generation of solar energy solutions, which are expected to contribute significantly to the industry’s growth. The prospects for 2025 look promising as LONGi Green continues to innovate in the field of renewable energy.
