Title: Dancing with Fish and Light: The Full Capacity Grid Connection of the Taizhou Hailing Fish-Solar Complementary Project!

On May 21, the Guohua Taizhou Hailing Fish-Solar Complementary Project officially achieved full capacity grid connection. This project has a total installed capacity of 147.2 MW, with all photovoltaic modules supplied by Zhengtai New Energy. A total of 302,796 ASTRO N5 high-efficiency photovoltaic modules have been installed over the fish pond, creating a clean energy transformation scenario of “power generation on water and aquaculture below.”

1. Integrated Fish-Solar System: A Win-Win for Ecology and Economy

The Guohua Taizhou Hailing Fish-Solar Complementary Project employs a composite industrial model that allows for electricity generation above and aquaculture below. By installing photovoltaic arrays above the water surface, the project efficiently generates electricity while utilizing the shading effect of the solar panels to suppress algae growth and regulate water temperature, providing an optimal growth environment for fish, shrimp, and crabs. This innovative use of land resources results in a multi-dimensional utilization of space. The project is expected to generate an average annual electricity output of 209 million kWh, sufficient to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 100,000 households. Furthermore, it is estimated to save 69,300 tons of standard coal annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 189,000 tons.

2. Technological Empowerment: ASTRO N5 Long-lasting Power Generation

The project utilizes Zhengtai New Energy’s ASTRO N5 series modules, which incorporate self-developed n-type TOPCon 4.0 cell technology. The 72-cell version has a power output of 600W with an efficiency of 23.2%, while the 78-cell version reaches 650W with an efficiency of 23.3%. The ASTRO N5 series demonstrates superior performance in terms of electricity generation, bifacial yield, temperature coefficients, low-light performance, LID (Light Induced Degradation), and LETID (Light and Elevated Temperature Induced Degradation). It also exhibits exceptional weather resistance in complex aquatic environments, ensuring the project’s long-term stable operation.

3. Synergistic Advantages: Empowering Regional Green Transformation

The Hailing District of Taizhou enjoys an average annual sunshine duration of 2,000 hours, classifying it as a “rich solar resource area.” Coupled with its intricate network of rivers and the traditional aquaculture practices of the region, this project offers a unique advantage for the fish-solar complementary model. It deeply integrates local aquaculture traditions with the needs for new energy development, promoting the upgrade of traditional fisheries while injecting green energy into the energy structure optimization of the Yangtze River Delta region. The project serves as a model of collaborative innovation under the dual carbon goals, embodying the complementary relationship between energy revolution and rural revitalization.

With shimmering sunlight above and fish flourishing beneath, this project is a testament to the revitalization of traditional fisheries through green energy.
