In recent years, Wenzhou has made significant strides in developing the new energy industry, actively promoting the construction of “fishing-light complementary” photovoltaic power stations. One notable project is the 550 MW fishing-light complementary power generation project located in Leqing Bay, which is funded and constructed by Wenzhou Hengtai New Energy Development Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Zhongtai New Energy Development Co. This project is also part of Zhejiang Province’s “Thousand Projects, Trillion” initiative. By integrating fish farming with photovoltaic power generation, the project achieves a dual purpose: energy production above while supporting fish cultivation below, turning intensive marine use into a reality. Zhu Jianxiao, the project leader, invites us to explore this initiative, often referred to in the industry as a “seaside power bank.”
