The 23rd China International Environmental Protection Exhibition (CIEPEC 2025) officially commenced on April 10. The event highlighted a report titled “National Ecological Environmental Protection Industry Practicing the ‘Two Mountains’ Concept and Serving the ‘Dual Carbon’ Strategy,” which revealed that in 2024, China surpassed 100,000 applications for environmental technology patents, maintaining its position as the global leader. Over the past 20 years, nearly 2,500 environmental technology equipment and demonstration projects have been promoted, with over 1,000 group standards established in the ecological and environmental protection sector, accelerating the formation of green productivity.

The ecological and environmental protection industry is a vital force in achieving the ‘Dual Carbon’ goals and promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of the economy and society. This year’s exhibition showcased a series of advanced achievements in the green and low-carbon field, featuring cutting-edge technologies.

Among the highlights was the domestic AI environmental monitoring technology, which supported national scientific research teams in overcoming challenges in high-altitude polar regions. Zoge Micro System (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. presented several innovative environmental monitoring achievements. Their independently developed GHG greenhouse gas monitoring system is utilized for monitoring greenhouse gases at national atmospheric background stations, marking a significant breakthrough against foreign technological barriers and serving as an important achievement in domestic alternatives for greenhouse gas analysis. Their LAR10K aerosol radar can detect aerosol distribution and trends at altitudes of 10 to 15 km. Additionally, mobile monitoring equipment is employed in the second comprehensive scientific investigation of the Tibetan Plateau and in research on moisture resources in the Taklamakan Desert. Engineer Zhang Heng from Zoge Micro stated, “By leveraging AI technology, our observation equipment has withstood harsh environmental conditions, providing robust support for research on climate change, greenhouse gas distribution, and diffusion.”

In a comprehensive display of the circular economy, China Resources Recycling Group showcased its initiatives in areas such as the recycling of power batteries, new energy devices, electronic appliances, recycled steel, non-ferrous metal reclamation, green fiber recycling, and green supply chains. They emphasized their role as a national leader in the circular economy, showcasing significant achievements from their green low-carbon circular economy demonstration base and the joint research center for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. Cui Aiyong, head of the construction and operation department for electronic appliances recycling at China Resources Recycling, stated, “Our participation in this exhibition reflects our commitment to the ‘Dual Carbon’ goals and the construction of ecological civilization, aiming to connect various resources, upgrade China’s recycling industry, and build a green low-carbon circular economy system.”

The Shandong Leading Environmental Protection Group, organized by the Qingdao Ecological Environment Bureau, presented under the theme “Technology-Driven Circular Economy, Innovation Leading Green Development.” They showcased their hard-earned strengths in solid waste resource utilization, environmental technology, and the recycling industry chain, attracting numerous inquiries from attendees. The group has developed a process for decarbonizing fly ash to extract high-purity carbon powder and modified fly ash, converting waste into high-quality raw materials for cement and concrete, with a resource utilization rate exceeding 95%. Chairman Li Xiangzu remarked, “We are anchored in the construction of ‘waste-free cities’ and are promoting the leap from ‘end-of-pipe treatment’ to ‘resource regeneration’ through standardized technology, large-scale industry, and replicable models.”

Beijing Kejingyuan Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on water environment management, displayed numerous national invention and utility model patent technologies at the exhibition. Their continuous innovation has led to breakthroughs in technologies such as extreme nitrogen removal, extreme phosphorus removal, low-temperature sewage biological treatment, waste reduction at the source, and biological treatment of micro-polluted water. They have developed two core technologies: rapid separation treatment technology and spore transfer technology, both recognized as internationally advanced and domestically leading.

Yunzhou Intelligent Technology (Zhuhai) Co., Ltd. showcased its self-developed security patrol unmanned boats, marine measurement unmanned vessels, and surface rescue robots. The Yunzhou team explained, “The marine environment is complex and changing, making it the perfect arena for unmanned vessels. Compared to traditional operational modes, unmanned vessels offer lower risk, emissions, and costs, while achieving high coverage, performance, and efficiency, representing a new productive force in the marine sector.”
