The largest technology expo in India commenced on March 23, 2026, with a spotlight on the collaboration between Taiwan and India in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The Convergence India Expo 2026, held in New Delhi, is set to run for three days and is expected to attract participants from 26 countries, including over 976 exhibitors and more than 54,589 attendees.

Leading the Taiwanese presence is the Taiwan Excellence initiative, which is organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). This year, 17 Taiwanese companies are participating under the theme of “Taiwan AI Technology Island”, with the Taiwanese flag prominently displayed at this significant event in India.

Chen Yu-Chi, the head of the Economic Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, expressed excitement about the establishment of a dedicated Taiwan Excellence Pavilion showcasing AI-related products. He noted that India’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives, such as Digital India and AI Mission, require high-performance hardware to support their solutions, presenting ample opportunities for Taiwanese businesses.

Many participating Taiwanese companies have been operating in India for over a decade and have established strong local partnerships. Chen believes this exhibition will allow them to showcase their products and services more effectively, thus attracting more visitors to the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion.

Among the Taiwanese companies participating is Lanner Technology, which collaborates with the Indian company PROSCEND. Sunil Agrawal, the general manager of PROSCEND, mentioned that Lanner is well-regarded in Taiwan and recently secured a significant order of nearly $2.5 million (approximately NT$80 million) from the Indian military. Agrawal highlighted that their products are recognized for their safety and reliability, having received necessary certifications such as the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE) and the National Security Directive on Telecommunication Sector (NSDTS), which enabled them to be adopted by the military.

Another Taiwanese company, iBASE, represented by its business manager Amay Parab, showcased its embedded computers that are widely used in railways, defense, and large infrastructure projects. Parab emphasized their solutions developed in collaboration with NVIDIA for applications in railways and factory automation.

The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion features three main thematic areas: Edge AI and Industrial Computing, Next-Generation Data Storage Solutions, and Future Communications and Smart Mobility. Notable companies such as Advantech and IEI Integration Corp. are displaying AI edge computing embedded systems, while others like Antai, Weidong, and Panasonic are focusing on smart manufacturing and rugged vehicle applications. Additionally, companies like ProLogium, Udata, Chimei, and Yangming are showcasing products related to 5G network communication and intelligent connectivity.
