Huawei Digital Energy has recently secured a patent aimed at reducing the risk of lithium corrosion in battery enclosures. The patent, titled “Battery, Battery Pack, and Energy Storage System,” received authorization from the National Intellectual Property Administration of China, with the announcement number CN222851545U and an application date of February 2024.

The summary of the patent indicates that it pertains to the field of battery technology, specifically focusing on a battery design intended to mitigate the risk of lithium corrosion within the enclosure. The described battery comprises a battery cell, an enclosure, and a top cover. The top cover includes a cover plate and a positive electrode post. A first electrode hole is present on the cover plate, while the positive electrode post consists of a first segment and a second segment. A second sealing ring is fitted over the second segment, making contact with the outer surface of the cover plate. This second sealing ring exhibits good conductivity, which helps to eliminate the potential difference between the positive electrode post and the enclosure, thus preventing excessive potential differences between the enclosure and the negative electrode post that could lead to lithium corrosion.

The first sealing ring is located between the first segment and the wall of the first electrode hole, allowing for effective sealing between the positive electrode post and the first electrode hole. This design prevents electrolyte leakage, enhancing the sealing performance of the top cover and improving the safety of the battery.

According to data from Tianyancha, Huawei Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2021 and is located in Shenzhen. The company primarily engages in technology promotion and application services with a registered capital of 3 billion RMB. Analysis from Tianyancha indicates that Huawei Digital Energy has invested in three enterprises, participated in 159 bidding projects, and possesses 83 trademark records and 4,114 patent records, along with nine administrative licenses.
