At the exhibition, Huawei showcased its ultra-charging and integrated light-storage-charging solutions, with the recently released Huawei Megawatt Ultra Charger garnering significant attention. This solution achieved a remarkable breakthrough, boasting a maximum power of 1.44 megawatts and becoming the industry’s first fully liquid-cooled megawatt-level solution capable of stable 2400A output. This technology offers rapid energy replenishment, exceptional quality, and excellent benefits, facilitating the electrification of heavy-duty trucks in various scenarios.

The Huawei ultra-charging system, featuring a fully liquid-cooled architecture, is compatible with different output terminals, enabling charging speeds from “one second per kilometer” for passenger vehicles to “five minutes of charging for a hundred kilometers” for electric heavy-duty trucks. Moreover, the integrated light-storage-charging solution enhances deployment speed and profitability across diverse scenarios, supporting partners in achieving commercial success.

Since its establishment of the Ultra Charging Alliance in 2024 with various automakers and industry partners, Huawei Digital Energy has continued to lead the charging network industry towards high-quality development. During this year’s Shanghai Auto Show, the alliance evolved into “Ultra Charging Alliance 2.0,” with more heavy-duty truck manufacturers joining, marking an expansion of the industry ecosystem from passenger vehicles to commercial vehicles and accelerating the transition to a comprehensive ultra-charging era.

During the event, Peng Peng, Vice President of Global Business for Huawei Intelligent Charging Network, delivered a keynote speech titled “Megawatt Ultra Charging Technology Accelerates the Electrification Process of Commercial Vehicles.” Based on Huawei Digital Energy’s in-depth analysis of the charging network industry, he predicted that the new wave of electrification in vehicles, represented by heavy-duty truck logistics, will hinge on the development of integrated energy charging infrastructure for high-quality advancement. Starting in 2025, electric heavy-duty trucks are expected to experience a robust market presence for over a decade, driven by operating costs and emission reduction benefits. The Huawei Megawatt Ultra Charging system will bridge gaps in the industry, offering high compatibility across vehicle models, easy maintenance, and space-saving installation benefits, positioning it ahead of battery swap technologies.

Huawei Digital Energy is fostering ecosystem empowerment by collaborating with automakers and battery manufacturers to address charging interface protocol compatibility and define ultra-charging heavy-duty truck products. This year alone, nine heavy-duty truck manufacturers that joined Ultra Charging Alliance 2.0 will introduce over 30 megawatt ultra-charging models, collectively enhancing the penetration rate of electric heavy-duty trucks, thus promoting cost reduction and carbon emission reductions in the logistics industry.

On the same day of the exhibition, Beijing Gaode Yunxin Technology Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with Huawei Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Both parties will leverage their strengths in key areas to create a convenient and intelligent charging service ecosystem through in-depth collaboration between Huawei Ultra Charging and Gaode Map, significantly enhancing the charging experience for new energy users.

The new era of comprehensive ultra-charging is set to advance rapidly with the industry.
