During the Intersolar Europe 2025 event held on May 7, 2025, Huawei Digital Energy hosted the “Solar Storage Integration, Smartly Shaping the Future” conference, drawing approximately 300 global customers and partners. This conference focused on comprehensive networking and high-quality development, introducing a new generation of networking energy storage products and solutions aimed at large-scale energy storage stations, microgrids, commercial and industrial applications, and residential scenarios, thus leading the renewable energy sector into a new networking era.

Zhou Tao, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Smart Photovoltaics Product Line, outlined the strategic objectives and value propositions of Huawei’s intelligent photovoltaic initiatives. He emphasized that Huawei Smart Photovoltaics will adhere to strategic goals that focus on the integration of 4T technologies, promoting the construction of a “new power system” energy infrastructure. Huawei’s intelligent string-based networking energy storage solutions present three key value propositions: ubiquitous networking, safety from core to grid, and a single platform that accommodates all business models, accelerating the transition to a new power system with 100% renewable energy. Specifically, these propositions include:

  • Ubiquitous Networking: Networking is pervasive throughout the generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization processes, ensuring the long-term stability of the new power system.
  • Safety from Core to Grid: Safety is integrated into every aspect of the energy storage system, safeguarding equipment, personnel, and assets.

Zheng Yue, President of the Energy Storage Business for Huawei Digital Energy’s Smart Photovoltaics Product Line, introduced the new generation of all-scenario intelligent string-based networking energy storage platform, featuring new products for energy stations and commercial applications. Addressing the challenges posed by a high proportion of renewable energy on grid stability and energy storage safety, Huawei’s intelligent string-based networking energy storage platform defines the gold standard for networking capabilities: energy storage should possess networking capabilities that span the entire lifecycle and operational scenarios of the power system.

For instance, at the Red Sea in the Middle East, a 1.3GWh energy storage and 400MW solar project employs large-scale networking technology to create the world’s largest solar-storage microgrid station, achieving 100% renewable energy supply for the city. It has operated stably for over 18 months, generating over 1 billion kWh of green electricity. In Tibet, the Kaitou Ali Gaze 30MW solar and 6MW/24MWh energy storage station utilizes Huawei’s intelligent solar-storage system to operate at full capacity under high-altitude (about 4,600 meters), extremely low temperatures, and weak grid conditions, increasing solar output from 1.5MW to 12MW and enhancing solar consumption by 75%. According to the station’s statistics, it has effectively supported the grid over 30 times within 10 days.

Huawei’s intelligent string-based networking energy storage is redefining the value boundaries of energy storage through power electronics technology, ensuring the safety and stability of the grid, and is making significant strides in the renewable energy era globally.

Moreover, Huawei Digital Energy has redefined energy storage safety with six core safety designs, upgrading the safety protection system from the industry-standard container level to a more detailed battery pack level, effectively preventing thermal runaway from spreading. This ensures that smaller energy storage protection units are safer, while the BMS enhances multi-dimensional intelligent diagnostics across the entire link, significantly improving the system’s proactive safety capabilities, thereby safeguarding the healthy development of the energy storage industry.

Sun Quan, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Home Smart Photovoltaics Business, introduced the new home energy management solution 6.0, which leads in green generation and intelligent electricity usage. Among the highlights is the new home storage product LUNA S1-7kWh, which offers a leading 15-year warranty, over 40% more usable power compared to industry standards, and expandable capacity up to 252kWh, making it suitable for both residential and small commercial applications. Huawei’s home solar-storage solutions have become a trusted choice for 3.9 million households and 30,000 installation partners worldwide, from zero-carbon homes in Milan to solar towns in Sweden, supporting the transition from energy-independent homes to interconnected energy communities.
