The event focused on all-scenario energy storage and high-quality development, showcasing the next generation of grid-forming energy storage products and solutions aimed at large-scale energy storage plants, microgrids, commercial, industrial, and residential applications, leading the new energy sector into a comprehensive grid-forming era.

Zhou Tao, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Smart Photovoltaics Product Line, presented the strategic goals and value propositions of Huawei’s smart photovoltaic initiatives. He emphasized that Huawei Smart Photovoltaics will adhere to strategic objectives by focusing on the integration of the 4T technology, promoting the construction of “new power system” energy infrastructure. The Huawei intelligent string-type grid-forming energy storage will enhance the development of a new power system with 100% renewable energy through three key value propositions: ubiquitous grid-forming capabilities, end-to-end security from core to network, and a single platform that accommodates all business models.

Addressing challenges such as the high proportion of renewable energy affecting grid stability and energy storage safety, Huawei’s all-scenario grid-forming and end-to-end security, along with a full lifecycle economy and digitalization, define the golden standard for grid-forming capabilities.

For example, the Tibet Autonomous Region has successfully implemented a 30MW solar and 6MW/24MWh energy storage plant, which operates optimally even in high-altitude (approximately 4,600 meters), extremely low-temperature, and weak grid environments, demonstrating a significant increase in photovoltaic generation capacity.

Furthermore, Huawei is redefining energy storage safety with its six major safety designs, upgrading the safety protection system from the industry standard at the box level to a more detailed battery pack level, ensuring that smaller energy storage protection units are safer. The new LUNA S1-7kWh energy storage product boasts an industry-leading 15-year warranty, providing over 40% more usable energy than competitors, with expandable capacity up to 252kWh, making it highly adaptable for residential and small commercial applications.
