Huawei Digital Energy has entered the comprehensive networking era with its all-scenario grid energy storage solutions. During Intersolar Europe 2025, Huawei Digital Energy hosted a conference titled “Light and Storage Integration, Intelligence Builds the Future,” attracting around 300 global customers and partners. This event focused on comprehensive networking and high-quality development, unveiling a new generation of grid energy storage products and solutions aimed at large-scale energy storage stations, microgrids, industrial and commercial sectors, as well as residential applications, thereby leading the new energy industry into an era of comprehensive networking.
Zhou Tao, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Smart Photovoltaics Product Line, shared the strategic goals and value propositions of Huawei’s smart photovoltaic solutions. He stated that Huawei will adhere to its strategic objective, focusing on 4T technology integration to promote the construction of a “new power system” energy infrastructure. Huawei’s smart string-type grid energy storage emphasizes three key value propositions: ubiquitous networking, security from chip to network, and a single platform that supports all business models, thus accelerating the development of a new power system that relies on 100% renewable energy.
Specifically, these propositions include:
1. Ubiquitous Networking: Networking is present throughout the generation, distribution, and consumption processes, supporting the long-term stability of the new power system.
2. Security from Chip to Network: Security is integrated at every stage of the energy storage system, ensuring the safety of equipment, personnel, and assets.
3. A Single Platform for All Business Models: At the hardware level, it supports flexible expansion capabilities and smooth evolution of C-rate; through an AI-powered light and storage collaborative management platform, it can automatically optimize generation forecasts and operational strategies across various business models.
Additionally, Huawei’s smart photovoltaic solutions adhere to a high-quality strategy and open ecosystem construction, collaborating with partners to provide customers with more competitive solutions and offering greater development opportunities for partners, all aimed at promoting high-quality industry development.
Zheng Yue, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Smart Photovoltaics Product Line Energy Storage Business, introduced the next-generation all-scenario smart string-type grid energy storage platform, which includes new products for energy stations and industrial and commercial applications. Addressing the challenges that high proportions of renewable energy pose to grid stability and energy storage safety, Huawei’s all-scenario grid, security from chip to network, full lifecycle economics, and comprehensive digitalization define the golden standard for grid capabilities. Grid energy storage should possess capabilities that span the entire lifecycle and all operational conditions of the power system.
For instance, in the Red Sea region of the Middle East, a 1.3 GWh energy storage and 400 MW photovoltaic project utilizes large-scale grid technology to create the world’s largest light-storage microgrid station, achieving 100% renewable energy supply for the city and maintaining stable operations for over 18 months, providing more than 1 billion kWh of green electricity. In northwest China, the Tibet Kaitou Ali Gai Ze 30 MW photovoltaic and 6 MW/24 MWh energy storage station, which utilizes Huawei’s smart light-storage system, operates at full capacity in high-altitude (about 4,600 meters), extremely low-temperature, and weak grid scenarios. Photovoltaic output has increased from 1.5 MW to 12 MW, enhancing photovoltaic consumption by 75%. The station has effectively supported the grid over 30 times within ten days.
Huawei’s smart string-type grid energy storage redefines the value boundaries of energy storage using power electronics technology, safeguarding grid safety and stability, and is writing a new chapter for the energy storage era globally. Furthermore, Huawei Digital Energy has redefined energy storage safety with its six major safety designs, enhancing the safety protection system from the industry-standard container level to a more detailed battery pack level to prevent thermal runaway. This ensures that smaller energy storage protection units are safer, combined with BMS full-link multidimensional intelligent diagnostics to significantly enhance the system’s active safety capabilities, ensuring the healthy development of the energy storage industry.
Sun Quan, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Residential Smart Photovoltaics Business, unveiled the new 6.0 household energy management solution for light-storage systems, leading the way in green power generation and intelligent electricity use. Among the new products, the household storage LUNA S1-7kWh boasts an industry-leading 15-year warranty, more than 40% additional usable electricity compared to competitors, and expandable capacity up to 252 kWh, making it an ideal fit for residential and small industrial applications.
Huawei’s residential light-storage solutions have become the preferred choice for 3.9 million households and 30,000 installation partners worldwide, supporting the transition from zero-carbon households to energy-sharing communities, from Milan’s zero-carbon homes to Sweden’s photovoltaic towns.
Huawei’s smart photovoltaic division is deeply committed to its strategic objectives, reshaping the comprehensive networking standards for the new era, and delivering beyond-expectation all-scenario smart light-storage solutions for global customers and partners, thereby accelerating the transition of global energy systems and the construction of new power systems.
