On May 6, 2025, during Intersolar Europe, Huawei Digital Energy held a conference titled “Fusion of Solar and Storage, Intelligent Future,” attracting around 300 global customers and partners. The event focused on comprehensive networking and high-quality development, unveiling a new generation of grid-connected energy storage products and solutions tailored for large-scale energy storage stations, microgrids, commercial, industrial, and residential applications, thereby leading the new energy industry into a comprehensive networking era.

Zhou Tao, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Smart Photovoltaics Product Line, outlined the strategic objectives and value propositions of Huawei’s smart photovoltaic initiatives. He emphasized that Huawei Smart Photovoltaics will adhere to its strategic goal of focusing on the integration of 4T technologies to promote the construction of energy infrastructure for a “new power system.” Huawei’s smart string-type grid-connected energy storage aims to accelerate the development of a new power system powered by 100% renewable energy through three main value propositions: ubiquitous networking, security from core to grid, and a single platform that accommodates all business models.

Zheng Yue, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Grid-Connected Energy Storage Division, introduced the new generation of all-scenario smart string-type grid-connected energy storage platforms, which include new products for energy storage stations and commercial applications. Addressing the challenges posed by high proportions of renewable energy on grid stability and safety, Huawei’s intelligent string-type grid-connected energy storage platform redefines the gold standard for grid connectivity, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive capability throughout the entire lifecycle of the power system.

Notably, a 30MW solar and 6MW/24MWh energy storage station in Tibet has successfully operated at high altitudes (approximately 4,600 meters), extremely low temperatures, and weak grid conditions, achieving full-capacity networking. The photovoltaic output increased from 1.5MW to 12MW, enhancing solar utilization by 75%. This project has effectively supported the grid over 30 times within a 10-day period.

Additionally, Huawei Digital Energy has redefined energy storage safety with six core safety designs, enhancing the safety protection system from the traditional box level to a more refined battery pack level, ensuring that smaller protective units are safer. This, combined with a full-link multi-dimensional intelligent diagnosis system, significantly boosts the system’s proactive safety capabilities, ensuring the healthy development of the energy storage industry.

Sun Quan, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Residential Smart Photovoltaics Division, introduced the latest Home Energy Management Solution 6.0, which leads the market from green power generation to intelligent energy consumption. The new LUNA S1-7kWh home storage product, featuring a leading 15-year warranty and over 40% more usable energy compared to industry standards, can be expanded up to 252kWh, making it highly adaptable for home and small commercial applications.

Huawei’s home energy storage solutions have become the preferred choice for 3.9 million households and 30,000 installation partners worldwide, supporting the transition from energy-independent zero-carbon homes to interconnected energy communities.
