Huawei Digital Energy has entered the comprehensive networking era with its all-scenario networked energy storage solutions. During the Intersolar Europe 2025 event, held on May 7, 2025, in Munich, Huawei Digital Energy hosted a launch event titled Smart Integration of Solar and Storage: Building the Future”, attracting around 300 global customers and partners. The event focused on comprehensive networking and high-quality development, introducing a new generation of networked energy storage products and solutions designed for large-scale energy storage stations, microgrids, industrial and commercial applications, as well as residential scenarios, thereby leading the new energy industry into the era of comprehensive networking.

Zhou Tao, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Smart PV Product Line, presented the strategic objectives and value propositions of Huawei’s smart photovoltaic initiatives. He stated that Huawei is committed to its strategic goal of integrating 4T technologies to promote the construction of energy infrastructure for a “New Power System”. The Huawei smart string networked energy storage system emphasizes three key value propositions: ubiquitous networking throughout the power generation, distribution, and usage processes; comprehensive safety from the core to the network; and a unified platform that accommodates all business models, thus accelerating the development of a 100% renewable energy power system.

Specifically, the propositions include:

  1. Ubiquitous Networking: Networking is integral to the long-term stability of the new power system throughout the generation and distribution processes.
  2. Comprehensive Safety: Safety is embedded in every aspect of the energy storage system to ensure the safety of equipment, personnel, and assets.
  3. Unified Platform for All Business Models: On the hardware level, this supports flexible expansion capabilities and smooth evolution of C-rates. Additionally, through an AI-powered solar-storage collaborative management platform, it can achieve optimal generation forecasts and operational strategies across various business models.

Simultaneously, Huawei’s smart photovoltaic initiatives adhere to a high-quality strategy and open ecosystem development, working with partners to provide customers with more competitive solutions, creating greater development opportunities for partners, and jointly promoting high-quality industrial development.

Zheng Yue, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s Smart PV Product Line for energy storage, unveiled a new generation of all-scenario smart string networked energy storage platform, which includes intelligent string networked energy storage products for stations and industrial applications. Addressing the challenges posed by high proportions of renewable energy on grid stability and energy storage safety, Huawei’s all-scenario networked approach defines the golden standard for networking capabilities in energy storage: networked energy storage should encompass all scenarios, operational conditions, and lifecycle stages within the power system.

For instance, the 30MW photovoltaic and 6MW/24MWh energy storage station in Tibet, operated by the Tibet Investment Group, utilizes Huawei’s smart solar-storage system under extreme conditions (approximately 4,600 meters above sea level, extremely low temperatures, and weak grid scenarios). This system allows photovoltaic output to increase from 1.5MW to 12MW, enhancing solar energy absorption by 75%. According to station statistics, it has effectively supported the grid over 30 times within 10 days.

Furthermore, Huawei’s intelligent string networked energy storage technology reconstructs the value boundaries of energy storage by leveraging power electronics technology and using digital intelligence to safeguard grid stability, thus writing a new chapter in the era of renewable energy globally.

In addition, Huawei Digital Energy has redefined energy storage safety with its comprehensive safety designs that transition the safety protection system from the industry standard at the container level to a more refined battery pack level, effectively preventing thermal runaway from spreading. This ensures that smaller energy storage units are safer. Coupled with a Battery Management System (BMS) for comprehensive multi-dimensional intelligent diagnostics, it significantly enhances the system’s active safety capabilities, ensuring the sustainable and healthy development of the energy storage industry.

Sun Quan, President of Huawei Digital Energy’s residential smart photovoltaic business, launched the 6.0 version of the home energy management solution, which leads the market in green energy generation to intelligent energy consumption. The new residential storage system, LUNA S1-7kWh, features an industry-leading 15-year warranty, over 40% more usable energy compared to competitors, and flexible capacity expansion capabilities up to 252kWh, making it an exceptional choice for homes and small commercial applications. Huawei’s residential solar-storage solutions have become the preferred choice for 3.9 million households and 30,000 installation partners globally, facilitating energy independence from zero-carbon homes to interconnected energy communities.
