On October 15, a joint action plan titled “Three-Year Doubling Action Plan for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (2025-2027)” was released by the National Development and Reform Commission along with five other departments. This plan aims to enhance the charging network continuously, with a goal to establish 28 million charging facilities across the country by the end of 2027. This initiative will provide over 300 million kilowatts of public charging capacity to meet the charging needs of more than 80 million electric vehicles, effectively doubling the charging service capacity.
According to Huatai Securities, this action plan is expected to significantly accelerate the construction of charging stations, which will likely generate increased performance for companies within the charging station industry chain and hasten the electrification of vehicles in China. The report recommends focusing on companies involved in charging station construction, charging module production, and charging operations, while also suggesting to keep an eye on companies within the lithium battery industry chain.
