Xinhua News Agency Reports: The Strategic Evolution of GoodWe: Building a New Energy Ecosystem Paradigm of “Source, Grid, Load, Storage, Intelligence”

As the share of renewable energy in the power system increases year by year, a new type of power system dominated by new energy is accelerating construction. Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly issued a notice titled “Notice on Deepening Market-Oriented Reform of Renewable Energy Grid Prices to Promote High-Quality Development of Renewable Energy” (Document No. 136, 2025), which emphasizes the importance of enabling renewable energy grid electricity to participate in market transactions. This document outlines a mechanism for sustainable price settlement for renewable energy and marks the reality of market-oriented electricity trading.

In the wave of energy transformation driven by the “dual carbon” goals, GoodWe, a leading company in the photovoltaic and energy storage sectors, is leveraging the “dual circulation” strategy as its engine. Through innovative full-scenario solutions of “Source, Grid, Load, Storage, Intelligence,” the company not only leads the domestic market but also accelerates its international development.

Founded 15 years ago and deeply engaged in the new energy sector, GoodWe is poised to tap into trillion-level market opportunities through energy storage technology.

Dual Circulation Strategy Cultivates Core Competitiveness

Wang Yingge states, “In the face of unprecedented changes, China has proposed a dual circulation strategy, and GoodWe is actively responding. We place great importance on the domestic market, investing heavily, which has yielded significant results. In the first quarter of 2025, GoodWe achieved the top ranking in the domestic household photovoltaic inverter market, with a substantial increase in market share compared to 2024. Additionally, our domestic photovoltaic building materials business performed exceptionally well, showing significant year-on-year growth. Our subsidiaries, including Yude and Smart Energy, also achieved remarkable results, driving rapid growth across all business sectors.”

In terms of international business, GoodWe has also demonstrated impressive performance. Wang Yingge noted, “Our products are sold in over 100 countries and regions, with 27 sales service centers globally and 11 overseas subsidiaries, employing nearly 300 staff abroad. As the European inventory reduction cycle ends, we have seen significant performance growth, particularly in the Australian market. Our channels and service capabilities in the Asia, Africa, and Latin America markets have also achieved breakthrough growth.”

Energy Storage Technology Positions GoodWe in a Trillion Market

GoodWe’s strategy in the energy storage industry is forward-looking. Wang Yingge explained, “From the very beginning, GoodWe recognized that the intermittent and unstable nature of photovoltaic energy is a barrier to expanding its application scenarios. Therefore, as early as 2012, we developed the first bidirectional energy storage inverter, entering the energy storage industry ahead of the curve and laying the foundation for future growth.”

At the 13th International Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition (ESIE 2025), GoodWe showcased three major scenario solutions: commercial, residential, and ground energy storage, achieving near-complete scenario coverage. For commercial energy storage, the ALL IN ONE 125kW/261kWh integrated energy storage cabinet, featuring self-developed 3S (PCS, BMS, EMS), supports the parallel operation of 10 units, achieving a maximum system capacity of 1.25MW/2.61MWh and integrates photovoltaic storage solutions. For residential energy storage, the ES Uniq inverter is designed for homes in areas without or with weak grid connections, boasting excellent microgrid characteristics and supporting both grid-tied and off-grid operation, with a rapid switching capability of 4 ms to ensure stable operation of critical loads. In ground power station energy storage, the 215kW storage PCS product features a modular design with remarkable networking capabilities, off-grid parallel operation, black start functionality, and compatibility with various battery types, allowing for “plug-and-play” onsite installation, saving time and increasing efficiency.

Building an Energy Value System with “Source, Grid, Load, Storage, Intelligence”

GoodWe Chairman Huang Min was the first in China to propose the “Source, Grid, Load, Storage, Intelligence” concept, providing profound insights into the future energy system. “We realized that every power station in the future needs to be constructed and managed from the perspective of ‘Source, Grid, Load, Storage, Intelligence,'” Wang Yingge stated. Based on this concept, GoodWe established a photovoltaic building materials division focusing on the research and promotion of BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) products. The company is also entering the air source heat pump market to address household energy issues through energy-saving technologies. Its subsidiary Yude has developed one-stop distributed solutions in the residential and commercial photovoltaic sectors, realizing turnkey projects.

Simultaneously, based on hardware products, GoodWe has established a Smart Energy Division to create the “Smart Energy WE Platform.” This platform has already covered over 100 parks and more than 4,000 projects, with a cooperative scale exceeding 8GW, aiming to surpass 15GW by the end of this year. Through digital and intelligent management, GoodWe is reconstructing the energy value system, facilitating the further advancement of the new energy industry.

Policy Winds Propel New Opportunities for Virtual Power Plants

Wang Yingge remarked, “Under the new policies, energy storage will become a tool for price regulation, effectively adjusting electricity prices and enhancing the profitability of photovoltaic projects. Furthermore, the combined development of distributed photovoltaic and energy storage is an inevitable trend that can enhance energy self-sufficiency, reduce dependence on the main grid, and improve electricity reliability.” Additionally, the new policies have opened new opportunities for the integration of virtual power plant technology with distributed energy sources. Virtual power plants require the aggregation of different energy sources for trading, and the participation of renewable energy in market transactions provides the conditions for virtual power plants to become a reality. GoodWe is actively positioning itself in the virtual power plant sector, relying on the prototype of a virtual power plant built on the “Smart Energy WE Platform,” enabling each power station to achieve digital and intelligent management while supporting carbon footprint monitoring and future carbon trading.

As global energy transformation enters deeper waters, GoodWe’s strategic evolution map becomes increasingly clear—using dual circulation to respond to uncertainties, leveraging technological innovation to define high-quality industry development, and constructing an energy value system through a collaborative ecological mindset of “Source, Grid, Load, Storage, Intelligence.”
