Attention Electric Vehicle Users: Charging Stations Are Here!

On May 7, 2025, at 09:21, it was reported that the electric vehicle charging stations have successfully expanded their network. As of April 29, 2025, two integrated charging stations in Changsha City began operations simultaneously, marking a milestone in the province’s infrastructure. These developments are part of a larger initiative to enhance the electric vehicle charging network across the province, which includes 122 stations in the region.

This accomplishment represents a significant step towards achieving the province’s goals for sustainable energy. In just seven years, the number of charging stations has surged to 428, with over 3,559 charging piles established, creating a comprehensive energy network focused on electric vehicle charging.

According to data, in the past seven years, more than 960 million charging sessions have been recorded in the province. Currently, approximately 84% of electric vehicle users are within a three-kilometer radius of a charging station. The province’s network includes over 100 fast-charging stations strategically located along major highways, with an average of one station available for every 120 kilometers, effectively meeting the needs of electric vehicle users on long journeys.

For instance, travelers heading from Guangzhou to Changsha can easily find charging stations every 500 kilometers, ensuring they can recharge their vehicles conveniently. Following the success of these initiatives, the province plans to further expand its charging infrastructure to serve even more cities.

Significantly, the goal for the province’s charging network is to have over 3,200 stations operational by the end of June 2025, with plans to reach 1200 stations in 14 provincial-level cities, and up to 2,300 stations across 27 provincial-level areas by the end of the year.

Ultimately, the number of charging stations in the province is expected to exceed 5,000 by the end of the year, significantly enhancing the charging capacity for electric vehicles and supporting the growing demand for electric mobility.

By 2030, it is anticipated that electric vehicle charging, along with battery swapping stations, will become a dominant method of energy supply. The province aims to continue supporting the transition to electric vehicles, ensuring sustainable and efficient energy solutions for its residents.

As developments progress, the focus remains on expanding the charging network and improving infrastructure to meet the growing needs of electric vehicle users, providing a robust and reliable energy supply for all.
