Breaking News! Zelestra has announced a significant achievement in renewable energy with a 1.6 GWh solar energy agreement.

According to Zelestra’s management, this agreement positions them as a key player in the renewable energy market, set to supply the largest battery storage project in the Americas, contributing significantly to energy storage technology.
The project will incorporate the PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled battery storage system along with PCS, aiming for a total storage capacity of around 1 GWh. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance energy generation capabilities, with a projected annual output of approximately 600 GWh of renewable energy, sufficient to power around 20 million households.
The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is anticipated to begin operational delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025. Leo Moreno, Zelestra’s operational manager, stated, “This crucial agreement will enable us to implement the latest battery storage technology, setting a new benchmark for energy storage projects in the Americas.” He further emphasized that this agreement represents a significant milestone for both Zelestra and the Aurora project.
In other developments, Zelestra has secured a 612 MWh energy storage contract with Globeleq, which marks a significant step towards renewable energy integration in the region. This contract includes the provision of up to 153 MW / 612 MWh of battery energy storage, with a service period spanning 15 years. The Red Sands energy storage project will leverage approximately 5 acres of land and connect to the local power grid through Eskom Garona substations, supporting the region’s energy needs.
The Red Sands project is expected to undergo financial assessment by 2025, with operations projected to begin in 2027, contributing to the region’s energy stability and sustainability.
