On April 10, 2025, the 13th Energy Industry Summit, the Energy Summit International Exchange Conference (ESIE2025), will kick off at the National Convention Center in Beijing. This event is organized by the China Energy Association, the China Renewable Energy Society, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

This year’s summit will focus on the theme of “Intelligent Energy Transition and Sustainable Energy Development” and will bring together over 1,000 participants, including representatives from government agencies, industry leaders, and academic institutions. The event aims to create a platform for dialogue and collaboration to address the challenges facing the energy sector.

This year, the summit will showcase the latest developments in various energy technologies, with a focus on 16,000 square meters of exhibition space, featuring nearly 800 exhibitors and 50 forums. The event is expected to attract around 5,000 attendees on the first day alone.

The policy direction indicates that energy companies are currently navigating a transitional phase in the market. The “136 Document” highlights the government’s commitment to facilitating deep structural changes in the energy sector. The National Energy Administration is focusing on sustainable development and promoting new energy technologies.

As of 2024, the national energy storage capacity has reached 58.6 GW/137.9 GWh, primarily focusing on applications in the electricity and energy sectors. The market for energy storage technologies is being actively promoted and supported by various governmental policies. The aim is to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of energy production and distribution.

The summit will also address the need for a healthy development strategy for new energy sources, especially in light of the increasing demand for electricity. The focus will be on integrating renewable energy with artificial intelligence and big data to foster innovation and efficiency across the energy sector.

At the summit, experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other institutions will present their insights on the future of energy technologies and the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing energy systems. They will discuss the necessity of improving the operational efficiency and sustainability of energy resources.

In summary, the ESIE2025 aims to pave the way for future developments in the energy sector by fostering collaboration among industry leaders, government officials, and researchers. The discussions will include strategies for innovative energy solutions and the integration of new technologies in response to the evolving energy landscape.
