Envision Unveils World’s First Smart Energy Storage System, Pioneering a New Era in Energy Management

On the morning of April 10, Envision Energy officially launched the world’s first intelligent energy storage system, the EN 8 Pro, in Beijing. This innovative system leverages AI technology and features built-in Trade Agent and Grid Agent functionalities to enhance the autonomous and efficient interaction between energy storage, electricity markets, and power systems. The EN 8 Pro aims to facilitate the development of a new power system and energy framework, contributing to the transition towards cleaner and smarter energy.

The hardware foundation of the EN 8 Pro consists of a standard 20-foot container with an 8MWh capacity, equipped with Envision’s 700Ah energy storage cells. Its cycle life reaches an impressive 15,000 cycles, while the system’s energy density stands at 541 kWh/m², significantly reducing the cost per kilowatt-hour throughout its lifecycle.

The intelligent energy storage system incorporates multiple specialized AI models within its Trade Agent, which utilizes a matrix of large models to automatically consolidate weather data, market information, electricity price curves, and load forecasts. For instance, Envision’s dedicated AI weather model enhances prediction accuracy by 30% compared to traditional sources. This high-precision weather forecasting also improves the accuracy of renewable energy power predictions. Moreover, the AI load forecasting model achieves over 97% accuracy in predicting electricity demand.

By integrating power and load forecasts with multi-source information at both the facility and provincial levels, the Envision Trade Agent can achieve a prediction accuracy of over 90% for day-ahead and real-time node electricity prices, surpassing the industry average by 5 to 10 percentage points. Utilizing precise electricity price predictions, the Trade Agent automatically integrates real-time device status information and local trading rule models to generate AI trading strategies, enabling automatic reporting and closed-loop control. Furthermore, it continuously optimizes trading strategies based on the results of previous transactions. The Trade Agent also connects trading, production, and operations and maintenance processes, ensuring optimal revenue throughout the entire lifecycle.

With a higher proportion of renewable energy, the system’s inertia will decrease, affecting the safe and stable operation of the power system. The frequent trading of large-scale renewables in the electricity market will introduce new steady-state and transient characteristics, leading to increased voltage and frequency disturbances.

Envision Energy promotes the integration of AI with grid construction technology. Utilizing its self-developed GenGrid generative grid technology, it has upgraded to a grid construction intelligent agent. This agent combines the Galileo grid perception system, the Kongming weather prediction model, control algorithms, and trading intelligence into four key modules. Driven by a dual-engine of data and models, it generates autonomous and precise grid construction solutions.

The Envision grid construction intelligent agent possesses self-awareness, adaptability, and self-evolution capabilities. It can continuously monitor multi-source data from the grid and update core parameters like voltage, current, frequency, and harmonics in milliseconds. Through dynamic system adjustments and robust control, it achieves damping inertia coordination, dynamic self-regulation of virtual impedance, and seamless switching between strong, weak, and off-grid modes. By constructing digital twin models based on real-time operational data, it optimizes control strategies without manual intervention.

As the proportion of renewable energy continues to rise, the significance of “Energy Storage Plus” integrated solutions becomes increasingly apparent. In the electricity market, combining different generation curves can create higher revenue opportunities. Off-grid systems and source-grid-load-storage configurations will also emerge as crucial elements of the new power system and energy framework.

With its intelligent energy storage and system-level capabilities, Envision can provide integrated solutions such as wind-storage, solar-storage, and source-grid-load-storage.
