Breaking through complex power grid conditions, Hongzheng Energy Storage is assisting Yangfan Copper Industry in refining its energy management.
Recently, the 2.25MW/4.698MW commercial energy storage project at Yangfan Copper Industry in Anhui successfully achieved full-capacity grid connection. As the core equipment supplier for this project, Hongzheng Energy Storage has leveraged its advanced digital energy storage technology and extensive project experience to provide reliable technical support and industry models for the construction of new power systems in high-energy-consuming enterprises.
Yangfan Copper Industry specializes in copper processing and has strict requirements for electricity supply, including continuity, stability, and cost-effectiveness. This project constructs an energy system that integrates energy storage and solar power, effectively reducing annual electricity costs, increasing the penetration rate of green energy, and ensuring power supply continuity for production lines. It also replaces the need for grid expansion and participates in frequency modulation auxiliary services to generate additional revenue.
To address the challenges posed by multiple transformers operating in parallel, long communication distances, and the dispersed deployment of power meters, Hongzheng Energy Storage implemented a master-slave architecture with 1 master and 17 slaves. This structure employs a unified scheduling algorithm to achieve coordinated control of multiple energy storage units, successfully overcoming the coordination and control difficulties of multiple EMS systems running in parallel, optimizing charge-discharge strategies, and enhancing overall energy efficiency.
The system supports modular expansion, allowing users to flexibly increase capacity by adding slave cabinets. This approach reduces installation and debugging complexity while minimizing the footprint of equipment to accommodate the varying electricity needs of enterprises at different stages.
To manage the risks associated with the dispersed and small capacity of transformers and high solar penetration, Hongzheng Energy Storage has established a three-tiered protection system: (1) The upper layer features a network of high-voltage anti-backflow meters, which can instantly identify reverse current fluctuations. This system interacts with the PCS to quickly adjust output power or initiate safety locks, effectively preventing energy from flowing back into the grid and ensuring voltage stability and safe operation of equipment; (2) The middle layer deploys 10 low-voltage anti-overload monitoring devices to continuously collect current and power parameters from the low-voltage side of each transformer, accurately tracking load fluctuations and ensuring that electricity demand remains within the contractually agreed maximum limits to avoid penalties for exceeding capacity; (3) The bottom layer utilizes edge computing nodes to build load tracking models, enabling load trend forecasting. The energy storage system dynamically absorbs peak loads, keeping maximum demand below the contracted capacity and optimizing basic electricity cost control.
The core equipment used in the Yangfan Copper Industry project is the latest D-Cube 2.0 series 125KW/261KWh liquid-cooled intelligent energy storage cabinet, deployed alongside the COSMOS 2.0 digital energy storage system. This system, based on a cloud-edge-end collaborative architecture, integrates big data analysis and AI technology to accurately predict enterprise loads and dynamically output charge-discharge strategies tailored to the energy usage characteristics of the enterprise.
In this project, a precise charge-discharge strategy was developed based on the regional peak-valley electricity price mechanism and a capacity fee optimization model, achieving real-time matching of electricity price periods with load curves. This creates an intelligent, efficient, and sustainable energy management loop for the enterprise, enhancing both economic benefits and energy optimization.
The Yangfan Copper Industry project not only demonstrates the applicability of digital energy storage in complex industrial scenarios but also provides a replicable low-carbon transformation model for the industry. Hongzheng Energy Storage will continue to promote technological innovation and business model upgrades, deepening the integration of energy storage systems with digital technologies to offer clients more efficient and reliable smart energy solutions, supporting high-energy-consuming enterprises in achieving a green and low-carbon transformation.
