Embodied Tinker 3.0 has arrived, marking a complete evolution of both its large and small brains! On February 10, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center officially launched the new generation of its general robot platform — Embodied Tinker 3.0. This platform focuses on being “more open and user-friendly,” leveraging the self-developed “Wisdom Opens Things” general embodiment intelligent platform to achieve significant enhancements in key areas such as body stability, motion control, coordination between large and small brains, and fully autonomous operations.
Additionally, Embodied Tinker 3.0 has become the first full-sized humanoid robot in the industry to implement interactive full-body high-dynamic motion control. In terms of physical performance, the robot stands at 169 cm tall and weighs 62 kg, capable of humanoid walking and running. It is equipped with high-torque integrated joints (with a peak torque of 400 N·m), providing exceptional physical explosiveness that can easily meet the high load demands of specialized tasks.
Even on rugged terrain or in environments with complex obstacles, it can maintain body posture stability thanks to sufficient torque output, overcoming the limitations of various scenarios and operational requirements. With a high degree of freedom structure (43 degrees of freedom across the body) and comprehensive coordination control capabilities, Embodied Tinker 3.0 can stably perform complex movements such as overcoming obstacles approximately 1 meter high and executing continuous high-explosion actions.
Its flexible torso and upper limb movement range also support complex dexterous control scenarios, including operations that require kneeling or bending in confined spaces, maintaining precise operational capabilities even in restricted postures. Furthermore, the robot’s multi-degree-of-freedom design enables precise joint linkage and action fine-tuning, calibrating operational accuracy to the millimeter level, perfectly aligning with the needs of industrial manufacturing, effectively avoiding operational deviations, and ensuring quality while enhancing generalization capabilities.
Notably, Embodied Tinker 3.0 reserves various types of expansion interfaces, supporting flexible integration with a range of peripheral tools in a “more open” manner. This allows for quick adaptations to specialized tasks, industrial manufacturing, commercial services, and more, achieving seamless integration with mainstream industry systems, significantly reducing development costs and entry barriers across various sectors.
On the software side, it relies on the “Wisdom Opens Things” platform ecosystem, offering comprehensive development documentation, toolchains, and a low-code development platform. This encapsulates complex technical capabilities into user-friendly operational processes, fully compatible with mainstream communication middleware and cloud protocols such as ROS2, MQTT, and TCP/IP. Partners can initiate customized secondary development without needing to restructure underlying technologies, effectively shortening development cycles.
The “Wisdom Opens Things” general embodiment intelligent platform serves as the core support for making Embodied Tinker 3.0 “more user-friendly.” It constructs a full chain closed-loop of “perception-decision-execution,” helping robots gradually move away from remote control and manual intervention, transitioning from single-machine operations to multi-machine autonomous collaboration. The large brain, driven by AI large models including the world model and VLM model, acts as the cognitive center, processing questions about “what it is” and “why it is,” understanding visual scenes and human language commands, reasoning with common sense, and breaking down complex tasks into step-by-step plans.
Meanwhile, the small brain, driven by VLA models and fully autonomous navigation capabilities, is responsible for real-time perception, obstacle avoidance, and precise action execution, enabling stable and efficient operations even in complex and variable environments. More importantly, the multi-agent collaboration application system built on the “Wisdom Opens Things” general embodiment intelligent platform possesses cross-body compatibility and asynchronous collaborative autonomous scheduling capabilities, achieving a genuine “one brain, multiple machines, one brain, multiple abilities,” providing a practical, replicable path for real-world applications.
The Beijing Humanoid continues to focus on the direction of “more open, more user-friendly,” leveraging advanced physical performance and embodiment intelligence technologies, allowing humanoid robots to truly “work and work effectively.” To further refine this open ecosystem, Beijing Humanoid has also made several key technological achievements open source based on the “Embodied Tinker” and “Wisdom Opens Things” platforms. These include the embodied Tinker body, control framework, world model, embodied VLM large model, cross-body VLA large model, embodiment intelligence training toolchain, embodied dataset RoboMIND, and embodied simulation assets ArtVIP.
