8-Year Quality Assurance for New Energy Vehicle Batteries – The latest report from the China Petroleum News highlights significant developments in the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector. As per the guidelines from the National Market Regulation Administration, it’s crucial for battery manufacturers to meet stringent quality standards.

In the first quarter of this year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China reached 3.182 million units and 3.075 million units, respectively, marking increases of 50.4% and 47.1% compared to the same period last year. This trend signifies that new energy vehicles now account for 41.2% of total vehicle sales.

However, there is growing concern regarding battery performance and longevity. The battery degradation issue has been increasingly emphasized, especially as extensive usage can lead to a significant drop in capacity. Reports indicate that in the current market, the demand for replacement batteries is expected to rise sharply, thereby necessitating a focus on battery quality and safety.

The China Petroleum News recently reported that the battery capacity degradation has become a pressing issue for manufacturers and consumers alike. By 2025, the number of new energy vehicles is projected to reach 3.2 million, and by 2028, this figure could climb to 9.8 million.

According to the latest data, the average battery capacity loss is anticipated to exceed 10%, prompting manufacturers to implement more rigorous quality assurance protocols. The cost for battery maintenance is estimated at 520 RMB, while replacement costs could range from 3,650 RMB to 10,000 RMB.

In light of these developments, several companies are focusing on enhancing their battery technology and lifecycle management strategies. The quality assurance standards established in 2015 will play a critical role in shaping the future of battery maintenance and replacement, ensuring that new energy vehicles remain reliable and efficient.

As the market evolves, manufacturers must adapt to the changing landscape by investing in better battery technologies and establishing comprehensive service plans to maintain consumer trust in new energy vehicles. This holistic approach will not only address current battery degradation issues but also pave the way for sustainable growth in the NEV sector.
