Edison Next has successfully installed a photovoltaic plant for Faerch in Valencia, leading to significant economic and environmental benefits. The project, covering 6,000 m², is located at Faerch’s facilities in Buñol and has a capacity of 1,271 kWp. With this new plant, Faerch aims to decrease its reliance on the electricity grid by harnessing solar energy for self-consumption.
Economic Impact of the Photovoltaic Plant
The installation will enable Faerch to generate approximately 1,612 MWh of renewable energy annually, which accounts for around 9.5% of the company’s total energy requirements. This commitment to renewable energy is expected to lower Faerch’s carbon footprint by 533 tons of CO2 each year, equivalent to the environmental benefit of planting 1,761 trees annually.
From a financial perspective, the photovoltaic plant is projected to yield a 29% reduction in energy costs from the very first year, saving the company €54,192 annually. As the project matures, the financial benefits are expected to grow, with savings reaching an estimated €173,770 per year after 16 years of operation. Ultimately, over a span of 25 years, Faerch will achieve total savings of nearly €2,963,693.
Maintenance and Sustainability
Edison Next will oversee both the preventive and corrective maintenance of the photovoltaic facility, ensuring its efficiency and longevity. The use of advanced materials in the plant’s construction guarantees optimal performance and durability.
This initiative aligns with global objectives for energy transition, promoting the adoption of renewable energy sources within the industrial sector. Manuel Villena Badía, head of the Buñol Faerch Industry, noted, “The successful implementation of this photovoltaic project has generated tangible benefits for our company.”
