Deye Debuts Off-Grid Inverters for Residential PV

Deye has introduced a new series of single-phase off-grid inverters designed specifically for residential photovoltaic (PV) systems. These inverters come with an AC output power that ranges from 3.6 kW to 6 kW. According to the company, the inverters achieve a maximum efficiency of 97.6% and a European efficiency rating of 96.5%.

The SUN-3.6/5/6K-OG01LP1-EU-AM2 inverter is available in three versions, offering rated AC output powers of 3.6 kW, 5 kW, and 6 kW. The smallest model can handle a maximum discharge current of 90 A, with a maximum PV access power of 7.2 kW and a maximum PV input power of 5.7 kW. Additionally, it has a maximum AC output current of 15.7 A.

For the 5 kW model, the specifications include a maximum discharge current of 120 A, a maximum PV access power of 10 kW, a maximum PV input power of 8 kW, and a maximum AC output current of 21.8 A. The largest option, rated at 6 kW, supports a maximum discharge current of 135 A, with maximums of 12 kW for PV access power, 9.6 kW for PV input power, and 26.1 A for AC output current.

All models feature an MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) voltage range from 150 V to 425 V and a rated PV input voltage of 370 V. The dimensions of these inverters are 306 mm x 427.5 mm x 175.77 mm, and they weigh 12.5 kg.

To enhance durability, the inverters are built with an IP65 protection rating, making them highly resistant to water and dust, suitable for various environmental conditions. Unlike traditional off-grid inverters that typically have an IP20/21 rating, Deye’s models are designed to maintain consistent performance in challenging settings.

The inverter’s special cooling system promotes optimal temperature management, preventing overheating even under heavy loads. Its side-mounted cooling duct minimizes direct airflow onto the circuit board, which helps reduce dust accumulation. Additionally, the inverter boasts an ultra-fast 4ms switching time, protecting sensitive devices from power fluctuations and reducing mechanical stress, which contributes to its longevity.

Deye offers these new inverters with a standard 5-year warranty, which can be extended to 10 years upon request.
