MW-level ultra-fast charging has become a hot topic in the industry! Daotong Technology is leading a MW-level fast charging revolution overseas.
On April 22, 2025, a well-known domestic company announced the launch of a new MW ultra-fast charging product, reigniting market interest in ultra-fast charging technology for new energy vehicles. This year, companies like BYD and Huawei have initiated an arms race in charging technology, introducing MW-level charging products. Compared to the mainstream fast charging options available today, MW-level charging significantly enhances charging power and speed, reducing the charging time to “minute-level,” closely mirroring the refueling experience of traditional gasoline vehicles. This marks a new era in electric vehicle charging efficiency.
Several analytical institutions have indicated that ultra-fast charging is now ready for large-scale commercialization, with related companies poised to play crucial roles in the development of smart cities. Among them, Shenzhen Daotong Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Daotong Technology”), a leader in the automotive aftermarket, is making substantial progress in ultra-fast charging solutions. Long before many domestic companies entered this sector, Daotong Technology had already launched its MW-level charging solutions in overseas markets in January of this year, positioning itself ahead globally.
From January 7 to 10, 2025, the CES International Consumer Electronics Show was held in Las Vegas. At the event, Daotong Technology unveiled its new series of MaxiCharger products for North America, which includes intelligent integrated DC ultra-fast charging piles, distributed ultra-fast charging piles, and MW-level charging systems. On February 12, this newly launched MW-level charging system was also showcased at the Daotong Technology 2025 Europe Partnership Summit.
The MaxiCharger DT1500 MW-level charging system developed by Daotong Technology boasts a peak power of over 1.44 megawatts and an output current of 1500 amps, placing it among the top in the world. While companies like BYD target MW flash charging primarily at private vehicles, Daotong Technology’s MW-level ultra-fast charging piles focus on Europe’s trillion-dollar commercial vehicle market. According to company representatives, the MW-level charging system is a customized solution for electric heavy trucks and buses, applicable in various charging scenarios such as highways, logistics fleets, and urban ultra-fast charging stations. This solution is vital for commercial vehicles to meet EU environmental regulations and achieve low-carbon targets.
With the EU set to ban the sale of gasoline vehicles by 2035, Bloomberg New Energy Finance predicts a compound annual growth rate of over 30% for charging stations in Europe by 2025. The shortage of charging stations for electric heavy trucks and other commercial vehicles is expected to exceed 100,000. However, currently, suppliers of charging stations in Europe from Asia and Oceania account for only 8%, making Daotong Technology one of the few Chinese brands to directly compete with local European manufacturers.
Thanks to years of market cultivation and significant investments in technological research and development, Daotong has successfully entered the European supercharging market, gaining a competitive edge in the deployment of MW-level charging solutions. During CES 2025, Daotong Technology established a strategic partnership with European electric vehicle charging infrastructure provider Orange Charging, resulting in the installation of their flagship product, the MaxiCharger DH480 intelligent integrated ultra-fast charging pile, in a prime location in southern Netherlands. This installation marks Daotong’s successful entry into the European market.
Recently, Daotong Technology also announced a strategic collaboration with Mer, a leading supplier of electric vehicle charging solutions in Europe. Through this partnership, Mer will introduce Daotong’s MaxiCharger AC product series into its charging network across key markets, including Northern Europe, the UK, Germany, and Austria, significantly increasing the number of charging stations and accelerating the transition to electric mobility in Europe.
A substantial number of Daotong’s MaxiCharger series AC and DC charging equipment have already been installed in various commercial and urban charging scenarios across over 22 countries. A Daotong Technology representative stated that even before entering the European market, the company’s R&D team dedicated significant time and effort to researching the cultures, consumer habits, and relevant laws and regulations of different European countries. Through close collaboration with local certification authorities, Daotong Technology successfully obtained multiple necessary certifications, including CE certification, ensuring the legal compliance of its products in the market.
Over the past three years, Daotong Technology’s sales performance in the European market has seen a compound annual growth rate exceeding 200%. The company’s CEO for Europe, Cai Ting, emphasized, “In the future, we will continue to deepen our efforts in the European market, increase local investments, expand our cooperative ecosystem, and enhance the competitiveness of our products and services, providing customers with more efficient and reliable charging solutions and supporting sustainable industry development.”
Currently, Daotong has established operations in over 120 countries and regions globally, providing efficient, scalable, and sustainable charging infrastructure. In 2024, Daotong Technology’s new energy charging business is expected to grow by approximately 53% year-on-year, representing over 22% of total revenue. By integrating AI-driven intelligent power matrix scheduling with solar and storage solutions, Daotong’s charging products are projected to achieve approximately 176 million kilowatt-hours of charging for global clients in 2024, which translates to a reduction of 87.8 tons of carbon dioxide emissions based on the substitution effect of replacing gasoline vehicles.
Looking ahead, Daotong Technology plans to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations by 2028 and aims for net zero emissions throughout its entire lifecycle by 2035. Transitioning from “super fast charging” to a “zero-carbon ecosystem,” Daotong Technology’s MW-level charging systems are pushing “Made in China” to become a core supplier in the global new energy infrastructure, writing a remarkable narrative of leadership in the green energy arena. Daotong Technology’s Chairman and General Manager, Li Hongjing, stated that with AI as the core driving force, the company has developed a stable growth trajectory for its digital maintenance business, established a high-growth trajectory for its digital energy business, and nurtured its integrated smart solutions for ground and air clusters as a third growth trajectory, enabling Daotong Technology to keep pace with global technology competition and achieve high-quality development.
