Daniel Best, the newly appointed president of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), is set to deliver the keynote address at the 17th annual Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF). This event will take place at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami from May 7 to 9, 2025.
“We are thrilled and honored to announce that Daniel Best has confirmed his participation as a keynote speaker at CREF 2025. His presence adds to an agenda that is shaping up to be one of our strongest yet,” stated the conference organizers.
Best will be joined by an impressive lineup of speakers, including Betty Soto Vinas, Vice Minister of Innovation and Energy Transition from the Dominican Republic; Jobeth Lillian Coleby-Davis, Minister of Energy and Transport for The Bahamas; and Anton Edmunds, General Manager of the Country Department Caribbean Group at the Inter-American Development Bank.
Representatives from the private sector will also be present, with speakers such as Bruce Levy, President and CEO of BMR Energy; Vernon Paltoo, President of the National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited; Kristin McCarthy, Corporate Director of Sustainability at Sandals Resorts International; and Emanuel DaRosa, CEO of SunTerra Energy Ltd. Jamaica will be represented by Lennox Elvy, Chairman of the Generation Procurement Entity (GPE – Jamaica), and Michelle Chin Lenn, Deputy CEO of Wigton Energy.
The Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF) is recognized as the largest annual gathering of the regional energy market, featuring participation from over 25 Caribbean nations, including government officials, utility providers, and regulators. During the three-day event, CREF will host various activities such as the H2 Caribbean 2025: Hydrogen Summit of the Caribbean, a Women in Renewable Energy Luncheon, Environmental Trading Breakfast, and a Caribbean Geothermal Deep Dive.
