Tesla’s autonomous vehicle Cybercab has recently been revealed as a fully operational self-driving taxi service. This development indicates a significant advancement in Tesla’s automated driving technology.
On April 19, 2025, Joe Tegtmeyer announced on the X platform that Cybercab would no longer require a human driver for its testing phase, showcasing the capabilities of the automated driving system in various conditions. The Cybercab, designed specifically for autonomous driving, has demonstrated impressive capabilities during recent trials conducted at Giga Texas.
Images shared from the latest test indicate that during trials, the Cybercab was not accompanied by a human-driven Model 3 vehicle. Tegtmeyer noted that if the current trend continues, the Cybercab’s automated driving system will be able to handle complex driving situations independently.
Additionally, the Cybercab features a unique “aggressive tint” on its windows, which enhances privacy for passengers while also improving the vehicle’s overall design aesthetic. Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, has projected that the annual production of Cybercabs will reach 200,000 units by 2026.
In parallel, Tesla aims to introduce its Robotaxi platform in June 2025, with the intention of showcasing advancements in its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology. Furthermore, Tesla’s Semi electric truck is expected to be deployed in support of companies like Frito-Lay to meet their delivery demands.
For more updates, the latest information can be accessed through the Sina Finance App, where Tesla has also launched a VIP program for its autonomous taxis.
