The advancement of clean technologies and the transition to a clean growth economy are top priorities for the Government of Canada. In line with the Hub’s mission to assist Canadian cleantech developers and adopters in identifying supports for their businesses and projects, this newsletter offers the latest updates on federal cleantech innovation, development, and deployment.

### Clean Economy ITC Webinars

In partnership with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is hosting a new series of webinars designed to help organizations better understand and navigate the Clean Economy Investment Tax Credits (ITCs) program. Participants can join the **Clean Economy ITCs – General Information** webinars for a broad introduction that covers essential topics such as labour requirements, eligibility guidelines, and how to claim the ITCs. For more specific information, individual ITC-focused webinars are available, each dedicated to one of the four credits offered. Each live session will conclude with a Q&A period, allowing attendees to ask questions and receive real-time answers from program experts at the CRA and NRCan.

### Highlights from the Energy Innovation Program – Renewable Energy Demonstrations Call for Proposals

Following a successful launch on May 27, 2024, the Renewable Energy Demonstrations Call for Proposals received **69 submissions** under Stream 1, totaling **$183.3 million**. Stream 2 attracted **86 submissions**, amounting to **$321.7 million**. This call, part of the Energy Innovation Program, aims to fund demonstration projects that advance innovative renewable heat or power generation and integration through novel applications providing local benefits.

#### Climatetech Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA)

The Climatetech Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) Program is a flagship initiative of the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS), designed to propel Canada’s most promising clean technology innovators onto the global stage. The program provides essential resources, expert training, tailored support, and connections needed to establish a strong and sustainable presence in the US market. Its primary goal is to help innovators secure key customers, attract investment, and forge strategic partnerships. The program employs a hybrid approach, blending both in-person and remote components.

#### Eureka Network Call for Circular Value Creation R&D projects (Summer 2025)

Eureka has announced a call for proposals open to Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and organizations from Eureka member countries that wish to form consortia to collaborate on developing innovative products, processes, or technology-based services with civilian purposes in any technological and market area. Eligible Canadian SMEs may receive up to **50% reimbursement** of eligible project costs, with a maximum total funding of **$500,000 CAD** over **12 to 36 months**. This call is administered in Canada through the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program.

#### CanExport Innovation

The CanExport Innovation program, offered by the Trade Commissioner Service, aims to enhance Canada’s international innovation efforts. Canadian innovators can access up to **$75,000** in funding to assist with research and development (R&D) for a single technology. The program covers up to **75%** of costs for pursuing and signing collaborative R&D agreements with international partners to jointly develop, adapt, or validate a Canadian technology owned by the applicant organization. Applications are accepted during three designated periods each fiscal year, with the next intake starting on September 1, 2025.

#### Eurogia Cluster’s 29th Call for Proposals – Clean Technologies

Eurogia is an industry-driven Eureka Cluster program aimed at promoting innovative, collaborative, international, and close-to-market research and development projects in clean technologies. Key sectors include hydrogen and renewable energy technology for generation and storage, ICT technologies for CO2 tracking and energy management, energy-efficient housing, digital twins, smart cities, IoT, and AI and Big Data technologies for energy optimization. The Eurogia Cluster’s 29th call for proposals is expected to launch in July 2025, with a deadline of October 30, 2025.

### Showcase and Commercialize Innovative Technologies with ExploreIP

To support businesses developing, enhancing, or commercializing new technology, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada has created **ExploreIP**, a free service showcasing Canadian innovations through a database of technological advancements and expertise from both public and private sectors. This platform promotes the discovery of technologies by potential clients and partners, facilitating collaboration opportunities. Through its Technology Development and Improvement services, ExploreIP connects businesses with Canadian innovations and experts to support the creation of new technologies and the improvement of existing ones.

### Canada Small Business Financing Program

Companies seeking business financing can explore options with the Canada Small Business Financing Program (CSBFP). Offering loans of up to **$1.15 million**, the CSBFP collaborates with lenders to share the risk, making it easier for businesses with revenues under **$10 million** to access necessary funds. This program can empower businesses to purchase equipment or cover working capital, helping them achieve their goals. Companies can discuss their requirements with a financial officer at any bank, credit union, or caisse populaire.

### Science and Technology Internship Program (STIP) – Green Jobs

Natural Resources Canada’s Science and Technology Internship Program (STIP) – Green Jobs provides funding to eligible employers across Canada to hire and mentor youth in the natural resources sector, including energy, forestry, mining, earth science, and clean technology. STIP – Green Jobs collaborates with third-party organizations to kick-start careers, create quality and inclusive work experiences, and build a skilled and diverse workforce. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

### Business Benefits Finder

The Business Benefits Finder connects businesses to hundreds of federal, provincial, and territorial government programs and services in one convenient location. Organizations can use this tool by answering a few simple questions to generate a customized list of supports aligned with their business goals. Additionally, the Finder can keep users informed by sending notifications about new programs, changes, or upcoming application deadlines directly via email.

### Carbon Capture Canada 2025

Carbon Capture Canada is a convention showcasing Canada’s innovations and offerings in carbon capture, utilization, and storage. This event provides an opportunity to meet key industry players over a three-day program, including a two-day business conference, trade show, and site visits. The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) is organizing incoming commercial delegations to attend this event, allowing companies to connect with international stakeholders and potential customers.

### Water Canada Summit
